Rey Cometa, 74th champion
Rey Cometa captured the championship on June 10, 2016 in Arena Mexico by defeating Bárbaro Cavernario.
History of Championship
Jack O'Brien, Ciclon Veloz and Chato Cabral made claims on this championship in 1940, when it was in limbo after Bobby Arreola gave it up due to injury in 1939. Their reigns were considered non official, with the next official champion in 1941. (SuperLuchas
