Vive Latino Championship
The Vive Latino Championship is a title defended annually at Mexico City's Vive Latino music festival in March. The event hosts lucha libre matches as a side-show to entertain wandering attendees. Both AAA and CMLL have collaborated with the event to provide talent.
History of the Championship
The belt was established in 2019 to celebrate Vive Latino's 20th Anniversary.[1]
As of 2026 it has featured 7 champions, and has never been successfully defended. That said, the 2021 event was cancelled entirely, likely due to covid concerns. So Dave the Clown has the unique distinction of remaining champion for 2 years.
The 2023 Vive Latino was allegedly attended by 80,000 people. Ironically, none of them seem to have recorded clips of or even commented online on the Championship match.
