Arena Puebla Tag Team Championship
The Arena Puebla Tag Team Championship is, unsurprisingly, a tag team championship defended exclusively in the CMLL-owned Arena Puebla.
A title matching that description show up in the arena's older records twice: Strong I & Strong II beat Hermoso Hércules & Rodolfo Ruiz for a "Puebla Tag" title in 1978,[1] whilst Brazo de Oro & Brazo de Plata successfully defended an Arena Puebla Tag Team Championship on a MORA show against El Signo & Texano in 1985.[2] However, it's possible that either of these might instead be in reference to the state commission-owned Puebla Tag Team Championship, which Los Brazos are recorded as having held.
In any case, the modern version of the title was created in conjunction with an expansion of CMLL's Puebla output from one show a week to two in the summer of 2026, coinciding with an influx of tourism from the FIFA World Cup. CMLL announced the first tournament matches for the new championship on June 17,[3] held a press conference elaborating further on June 20,[4] and officially began the first round on June 22.[5]
