Current Champion
Texano Jr. is the first CMLL Historic Light Heavyweight Champion when CMLL awarded him the title. He won the ended the antecedent championship on April 5, 2009 in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara.
History of Championship
This championship was opened on August 12, 2010. After years of NWA asking for the championship to be returned, CMLL decided to retire the the NWA championships, replacing them with CMLL Historic championships of the same weight class. The previous champions were given new belts, making Texano Jr. the first champion.
