A Queretaro team was added, and the “Comarca Lagunera” regional team was split into the two major cities in the area: Torreon, Coahuila, and Gomez Palacio, Durango. The teams were also lowered to 5 members each, and the format was changed to allow for three semifinals and a 3-way 5v5v5 final.

CMLL held the tumbler draw for the team seedings on the February 12 CMLL Informa. On the same show, they announced that Angel Azteca Jr. (Gomez Palacio) and Turbo (Torreon) did not pass medical testing and thus would not participate. CMLL did not book in alternates, which put the Laguna teams at a disadvantage.

Turbo was medically disqualified from competing for Team Torreon, making the match a 5-on-4 handicap.
