Kukluxklan should be the current champion. He defeated Diamante Azul in his first defense on August 12, 2012 in San Luis Potosi. However, Diamante Azul did not bring the belt to the match so his CMLL Tag Team Titles was used as the physical belt, instead allowing KuKluxKlan to present a CMLL World Tag Team Championship belt as his won title. CMLL has not acknowledged the title change and has continued to refer to Diamante Azul as the champion, but the belt has not been seen in Mexico City since the unrecognized title change.
