Current Champion (Defunct Championship)
This title was part of AAA's World (Mega) Unification Tournament to crown a AAA World Heavyweight Champion. Charly Manson carried this championship into the match, but did not actually get to defend it, as he only faced foreigners in his two tournament matches. Manson lost in the semifinals, and the title belt has not been seen since. El Mesias, the winner of the match, did not take the belt (being from Puerto Rico, he was not eligible).
The championship has not appeared since that match. Charly Manson has said in interviews he still has the belt. Charly suffered an injury in May of 2008 and will be out until 2009, so this championship will go with actual title matches for at least 18 months and possibly longer. This championship should be considered inactive.
