Arkangel de la Muerte in 1991 after his mask loss as Mr. Cid he fell in depression and he had a near death accident in which he was in comma for about a week.  In that trance he said that he was visited by an Angel who told him to do not give up. Months later, totally recovered he continued his career under a new identity as El Arkangel de la Muerte . He was commonly just called Arkangel; there are plenty of Angel luchadors, but only one Arkangel.
Arkangel was a long time CMLL midcarder. He's held both the CMLL and Mexican National Welterweight Championship, but wasn't strongly pushed when champion. He seemed to be a guy they use to hold matches together, but isn't noteworthy on his own. Arkangel was a member of Pandilla Guerrera. Formed his own group called Rebeldes del Desierto in early 2008. He has wrestled in Japan, Philippines, all over Central America, and Canada.
Besides being a luchador, Arkángel was well known for being a trainer. He trained many luchadors and luchadoras, many of whom have gone on to become stars in Lucha Libre.

Bio

Arkangel de la Muerte in 1991 after his mask loss as Mr. Cid he fell in depression and he had a near death accident in which he was in comma for about a week. In that trance he said that he was visited by an Angel who told him to do not give up. Months later, totally recovered he continued his career under a new identity as El Arkangel de la Muerte [2].
