Rey del Inframundo is a tournament held by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre since 2017, during their annual Día de Muertos week of shows. The winner receives a championship belt, and - like classic Leyenda de Plata tournaments - defends it at the following year's event.
2017
The inaugural champion was crowned in an 8-man torneo cibernetico on November 3, 2017. Sanson won by last eliminating Soberano Jr..

2018
This tournament featured a 12-man #1 contendership cibernetico on October 26, with the winner facing Sanson for the title a week later on November 2. Templario won the shot, and Sanson retained.
2019
This year featured a 10-man cibernetico on Tuesday October 29. Star Jr. won the shot, and was defeated by Sanson in 23:53 three days later on November 1.
2020
Sanson tested positive for Covid-19 shortly before Día de Muertos, so the title was vacated. A 10-man cibernetico was held on October 23, with the last two competitors fighting to crown a new champion in the final the following week.
El Terrible defeated Euforia on October 30 in 19:31 to be crowned the new Rey del Inframundo.
2021
This year reverted to the format from 2019. The contendership cibernetico was held on November 2 and won by Atlantis Jr..
El Terrible retained against Atlantis Jr. on November 5.
2022
This year's cibernetico was held on November 1, and won by Stuka Jr..
Stuka Jr. defeated El Terrible in 13:02 on November 4 to be crowned the new Rey del Inframundo.
2023
This year's cibernetico was held on October 31, and won by Barbaro Cavernario.
Barbaro Cavernario defeated Stuka Jr. in 12:43 on November 3 to be crowned the new Rey del Inframundo.
2024
This year's tournament changed the format. Three challengers would be determined early in Día de Muertos week in 3 separate 8-man cibernetico matches, taking place in each of CMLL's routine stops: Mexico City, Puebla & Guadalajara. The champion would then defend his title against all 3 in an elimination 4-way on the Friday show.

In the final on November 1, Xelhua eliminated Barboza at 7:45, Difunto eliminated Xelhua at 9:32, and Difunto pinned Barbaro Cavernario in 19:35 to be crowned the new Rey del Inframundo.
2025
This year retained the formula from the previous, albeit with 6-man ciberneticos.

In the final on October 31, Guerrero Maya Jr. won in 16:15 by last eliminating Difunto to be crowned the new Rey del Inframundo.
