• 01/04 - Mascarita Sagrada Jr. beats Mini Vader in one of the first Shotgun Saturday Night shows.
• 01/09 - Salsero appears on a Promo Azteca card wearing his mask despite losing a mask vs mask match 2 weeks earlier to Juventud Guerrera
• 01/10 - Mini Vader and Mini Mankind (formerly Espectrito I and II) debut their new gimmicks for AAA in Nez. On the same card Hector Garza makes his AAA debut after jumping from EMLL.
• 01/15 - Rey Misterio Jr. appears on the Regis and Kathy Lee show from NYC.
• 01/19 - AAA participates on the WWF's Royal Rumble PPV show from the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. In matches that took place before the telecast Perro Aguayo Jr. and Venum beat Maniaco and Mosco De La Merced, Mascarita Sagrada and La Parkita beat Mini Mankind and Mini Vader, and Octagon, Tinieblas Jr., Blue Demon Jr. beat Histeria, Heavy Metal, Abismo Negro in what was reported to be the best matches of the night. On the actual PPV Hector Garza, Perro Aguayo, Canek beat Jerry Estrada, Heavy Metal, Fuerza Guerrera. Also, Pierroth Jr., Mil Mascaras, Latin Lover, and Cibernetico particpated in the Royal Rumble.
• 01/21 - Chris Jericho, Super Calo, Chavo Guerrero Jr. beat Konnan, Mr. J.L., La Parka in the match of the night at the Clash of Champions
• 01/26 - Los Villanos make their Promo Azteca debuts after leaving AAA.
• 01/31 - Lizmark Jr. debuts in Promo Azteca after leaving EMLL; Jake Roberts/Fake Diesel/Fake Razor debut in AAA defeating Cibernetico, Perro Aguayo, Pierroth Jr. in Mexico City
• 02/02 - EMLL draws a sellout in Tokyo's famous Korakuen Hall on the opening night of it's first ever Japan tour.
• 02/06 - Negro Casas defeats rival El Hijo Del Santo in Tokyo
• 02/16 - The original Mascara Sagrada beats Mascara Ano 2000 to win the IWC Heavyweight Title in Cancun
• 02/21 - AAA draws 9000 in Madero for "El Rey de Reyes" one night tournament. Hector Garza wins. El Hijo Del Santo defeats Rey Misterio Jr. for the WWA Welterweight Title in a **** classic. It marks the first time these 2 have ever met.
• 02/24 - Miguel Perez Jr. makes his WWF debut. Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Syxx appear on Monday Nitro wearing Promo Azteca T-Shirts in support of Konnan. Earlier in the week Bishoff began negotiations with Paco Alonso and EMLL.
• 02/28 - The brother duo of Silver King and Dr. Wagner Jr. defeat Ultimo Dragon and Dos Caras to crown new CMLL Tag Champs in Mexico City. Across town in the same night Perro Aguayo, Canek, Cibernetico beat Fake Razor, Fake Diesel, Jake Roberts.
• 03/05 - Promo Azteca and EMLL co-promote a show in Aguascalientes that draws 10,000.
• 03/07 - AAA draws a sellout of 5,500 fans to Mexico's Jaun De La Barrera Gym with Cibernetico and Canek defeating Fake Diesel and Fake Razor in the main event. Pantera Del Ring beat Angel Azteca in the finals of a tournament to crown a new Azteca Middleweight Champion in Toluca.
• 03/21 - EMLL draws 10,000 to Arena Mexico for a show commemorating the 100th anniversary of Salvador Lutteroth's Birthday. Lutteroth was the founder of EMLL in the 1930's and was Mexico's leading promoter until his death in the 1970's.
• 03/22 - Picudo comes out from the crowd to smash a bottle over Heavy Metal's head in Durango in an attempt to copy the famous angle in 1995 where Mascara Ano 2000 did the same thing to Perro Aguayo.
• 03/23 - Ultimo Dragon defeats Psicosis at Uncensored. During their walk to the ring Kevin Nash and Scott Hall wear Azteca T-Shirts is support of Konnan again.
• 04/01 - EMLL celebrates 54 years if running shows in Mexico City's Arena Coliseo. Satanico retains the CMLL Middleweight Title against El Dandy in the main event.
• 04/04 - Steel defeats Rayo De Jalisco Jr. in the finals of the 4th annual EMLL Int'l Grand Prix Wrestling Tournament in Arena Mexico. The Tournament, one of EMLL's major shows of the year, draws a disappointing 5000 fans.. Mora Promotions runs a show in Tijuna's Municipal Audotrium where rivals Negro Casas and El Hijo Del Santo team in the main event to defeat Scorpio Jr. and Bestia Salvaje. Konnan and Vampiro team up for the first time in several years at a Promo Azteca TV taping in Xochimilko with Mascara Sagrada to defeat Psicosis Cien Caras, Pantera Del Ring.
• 04/06 - Rey Misterio Jr. defeats Ultimo Dragon in a **** as a part of Spring Stampede PPV telecast from Tupelo, MS.
• 04/11 - Steel pins Rayo De Jalisco Jr. for the second time in 1 week teaming with Silver King and Dr. Wagner Jr. against Rayo, Dos Caras, and Atlantis.
• 04/15 - Mano Negra loses a hair vs hair match against Super Porky in Arena Coliseo.
• 04/18 - AAA draws 6000 in Tijuana with Cibernetico, Canek, Perro Aguayo beating Killer, Jake Roberts, Pierroth Jr. in the main event. Steel pins Rayo De Jalisco Jr. for the 3rd time in 2 weeks to win the CMLL Heavyweight Title as EMLL celebrates 41 years of promoting in Arena Mexico. On the undercard Felino wins a 16 man Elimination Match.
• 05/02 - Longtime EMLL rudo Sangre Chicana jumps to AAA appearing at a TV taping in Nez.
• 05/04 - Shocker defeats Black Warrior, amidst rumors of his jumping to Promo Azteca to win the NWA World Light Heavyweight in Mexico City.
• 05/06 - Taka Michinoku makes his debut in Mexico from EMLL teaming with La Fiera and Atlantis. The team lost to Apolo Dantes and The Headhunters at Arena Coliseo.
• 05/09 - EMLL draws a sellout of 5500 to Arena Coliseo to see a battle of brother teams as Silver King and Dr. Wagner Jr. beat Felino and Negro Casas.
• 05/16 - Mora Promotions draws 4400 in Tijuna for shows using EMLL and Azteca workers. In the main event, Rey Misterio Sr. and Rey Misterio Jr. beat Misterioso and El Hijo Del Santo.
• 05/18 - Rey Misterio Jr. defeats Yuji Yasuraoka at the WCW Slamboree PPV.
• 05/19 - Mora Promotions draws a card of 8500 for a card in Nuevo Laredo.
• 05/23 - Hector Garza formerly of AAA and El Dandy formerly of EMLL jump ship to Promo Azteca.
• 05/26 - Hector Garza makes his WCW debut teaming with Super Calo and Juventud Guerrera to beat Damien, Ciclope, La Parka on Nitro from Nashville.
• 06/06 - Dean Malenko defeats Rey Misterio Jr. before 13,000 fans at the Illio DiPaolo Memorial Show in Buffalo.
• 06/09 - Silver King makes his WCW debut in Boston teaming with Psicosis and La Parka and losing to Juventud Guerrera, Super Calo, Ultimo Dragon.
• 06/13 - AAA kicks off it's annual TripleMania series with TripleMania 5A at Plaza Toros in Tijuna. The card with Perro Aguayo, Tinieblas Jr., Canek defeating Killer, Jake Roberts, Gorgeous George in the main event draws a lackluster crowd of 6000 fans.
• 06/15 - TripleMania 5B takes place at El Torero in Naucalpan drawing a crowd of 12,000. Perro Aguayo, Octagon, Canek, Cibernetico beat Gorgeous George, El Cobarde II, Fuerza Guerrera, Jake Roberts in the main event. Ultimo Dragon defeats Psicosis in Moline, IL as a part of WCW's Great American Bash.
• 06/19 - Rey Misterio Jr. beats Steven Regal at a WCW House Show in Hamburg, Germany.
• 06/20 - Pierroth Jr. (having left AAA) and Silver King (having left EMLL) make their Promo Azteca debut doing a run-in at a House Show in Cuernavaca. Also on the show, Super Parka (Volador) makes his Azteca debut.
• 06/30 - Sean Morley AKA Steel loses to Henry Godwinn in a RAW dark match tryout.
• 07/04 - Felino defeats El Hijo Del Santo at Arena Mexico. Also on the show Yoshihiro Tajiri returns to EMLL.
• 07/09 - Black Warrior from EMLL and Jerry Estrada from AAA jump to Promo Azteca appearing at a TV taping in Mexico City.
• 07/11 - Blue Panther jumps from Promo Azteca to AAA.
• 07/13 - Juventud Guerrera, Hector Garza, Lizmark Jr. defeat Villano IV, La Parka, Psicosis at WCW's Bash at the Beach PPV.
• 07/20 - Fuerza Guerrera and Mosco De La Merced win the Mexican National Tag Titles in a 1 night tournament held in Naucalpan.
• 07/25 - El Hijo Del Santo defeats Felino in front of 5000 fans at Arena Mexico in Mexico City.
• 07/28 - Volador loses a hair vs hair match against Pimpenela Escarlata in Nuevo Laredo. The match causes a stir from the District Federal wrestling commision as Volador also wrestled at the time with a mask in Promo Azteca as Super Parka.
• 07/31 - AAA shows how desperate they have become by bringing back Babe Face, an over 40 years old heel.
• 08/01 - Mr. Aguila makes his Promo Azteca debut at a TV taping in Xochimilko.
• 08/06 - One of the most famous Lucha venues in the world, Pista Arena Revolucion, collapses to the ground. EMLL owner Paco Alonso had sold it weeks earlier.
• 08/10 - Konnan teams with Mil Mascaras, Mascara Sagrada to beat Nikozuna, Yokozuna, Doink at a WWO show in Watsonville, CA before 2000 fans.
• 08/18 - EMLL draws 1850 fans to Tokyo's Korakuen Hall on their 2nd tour of Japan. The main event saw Mr. Niebla win a battle royale.
• 08/21 - Juventud Guerrera, Super Calo, Lizmark Jr., Hector Garza lose to Psicosis, La Parka, Villano V, Villano IV at WCW Clash of the Champions.
• 08/22 - Los Hermanos Dinamita leave Promo Azteca for EMLL appearing at Arena Mexico.
• 08/29 - El Hijo Del Santo and Rey Misterio Sr. beat Felino and Negro Casas on a Mora Promotions show in Tijuna. The Headhunters, Kevin Quinn, Steel no show an EMLL card at Arena Mexico and jump to Promo Azteca appearing at a TV taping across town.
• 09/08 - Promo Azteca's Pantera makes an appearence on RAW losing to Brian Christopher in Cincinnati, OH
• 09/09 - Taka Michinoku defeats Pantera on a taping of RAW from Muncie,IN. During the Shotgun tapings Pantera beat Super Loco AKA Super Crazy.
• 09/12 - Super Crazy, Oro Jr. (Super Nova), Mosco De La Merced I, Super Muneco debut at a Promo Azteca TV taping.
• 09/14 - AAA draws 18,500 fans, the largest crowd of the year in Mexico to Guadalajara's Rio Nilo Coliseum to see Perro Aguayo, Perro Aguayo Jr., Heavy Metal beat Sangre Chicana, Cobarde II, Picudo in a cage main event. On the undercard Antonio Pena introduces the new Histeria, Psicosis, and Mosco De La Merced.
• 09/17 - EMLL draws 17,000 fans to Mexico City's Arena Mexico for it's 64th Anniversary Show as El Hijo Del Santo defeats Negro Casas in a mask vs hair match. Lola Gonzales wrestles her last match on the undercard.
• 09/22 - 2 weeks after appearing on RAW Pantera wrestles a dark match at Nitro teaming with Super Astro and Oro Jr. in a losing cause against El Dandy, El Texano; Universo 2000 defeats Rayo de Jalisco Jr. and Cien Caras to win the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship
• 10/08 - El Hijo Del Santo regains the WWA Welterweight Title from Felino in Leon.
• 10/10 - Black Warrior who jumped to Promo Azteca months earlier, jumps back to EMLL appearing at an Arena Mexico House Show. Satanico loses to Satoru Sayama on a Michinoku Pro show before 6000 fans at Tokyo's Sumo Hall.
• 10/11 - Negro Casas teams with Shinjiro Otani and Koji Kanemoto to defeat Jushin Liger, El Samurai, Kendo Ka Shin.
• 10/17 - Blue Panther leaves AAA for EMLL.
• 10/24 - Tinieblas Jr. win the vacant WWO Title beating Pierroth Jr. in Naucalpan.
• 10/26 - Rey Misterio Jr. beats Eddy Guerrero for the WCW Cruiserweight Title in a MASK vs TITLE match at WCW's Haloween Havoc.
• 10/29 - A riot occurs at a Promo Azteca show in Tijuana.
