This match is regularly used to lead into an apuesta match, sometimes as an immediate pre-requisite to determine an apuesta main event for the night (ala a Ruleta de la Muerte), in which case it is called a Relevos Suicidas. CMLL created its own National Parejas Increíbles Tournament using this format.
