Jalisco Lightweight Championship

The Jalisco Lightweight Championship is one of the state championships of the Guadalajara box y lucha libre commission. Very little is known about the championship and it's likely been defunct more often than it's been active.

The championship first shows up in the 1940s. Many of the 1940 Jalisco championships became the Occidente championships of the same name. There's little known about the Occidente Lightweight Championship, so it's hard to know if these two championships are actually related.

The name returned in the 2000s as an independent Jalisco championship. Only matches announced for the title are known, no results are recorded.

Unspecified

In 2024, multiple arenas participated in a tournament for a "Guadalajara Lightweight championship", won by Obek.[1] It was defended repeatedly over the following few years, particularly in Arena Jalisco.[2] Whether this is the same title is difficult to determine. The champion as of 2026 is Tiguer Trueno.[3]

Likewise: In 2011, Arena Jalisco hosted a match between Súper Meteoro & Bestia Roja for an "Azteca Lightweight Championship".[4] Crazy Fly defeated Kraken for the similarly-titled "Azteca Guadalajara Lightweight Championship" the following year in Arena Azteca.[5] It's unknown if these are the same title as the Jalisco version, or one another.

Arena Guadalajara apparently has its own dedicated "Arena GDL Lightweight Championship". Enviado held both it and the Arena Jalisco version simultaneously at one point, which confuses the distinction.
