Current Champion (Defunct Championship)
El Mesias was technically the last man to be UWA Light Heavyweight champion, winning it from Chessman on 2007.09.16, but he was a bit too busy being carried to the back to ever actually hold this belt. This championship has been unified out of existence, replaced by the AAA World Heavyweight Championship.
History of Championship
Next person to figure out how Zorro got the title back in 2007 will be the first. Zorro had been repeated champion previously, but there's no known match where he won the title back from Hator. It may have happened at some ill-promoted show (to the point where word of the change never made it out), but it seems more likely Hator just handed the title back at some point.
Zorro didn't hold onto it for long, dropping it to Chessman in the first part of the AAA Heavyweight Unification Tournament, which turned out to be the start of a Zorro rudo turn. Chessman held the title only until the end of the tournament, where he lost to Mesias. Technically, Mesais picked up a championship reign, but it really only exists in record keeping. The title immediately became defunct, one of many now superseded by the AAA World Heavyweight Championship.
