The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship is a NJPW championship, and has been defended almost exclusively there.
Only three Mexicans have ever won this championship:
- Juventud Guerrera, who won it in WCW, broke his arm in the same match, and never defended the title.
- Mistico, who defended it in CMLL. Since the title was active in Mexico, his title history is listed below.
- Dragon Lee defeated Bandido and Taiji Ishimori (c) in a Three Way Match to win the championship on April 6, 2019.
