CMLL held a one night tournament on June 7th, 1996 to award Arena Coliseo trophies. The tournament looked a lot like a Gran Alternativa (and was previously credited as one), but was not billed as one. It was simply listed Trofeo Arena Coliseo and the winners got those trophies.

Chicago Express did get a Gran Alterntiva like push for a short time following the win. He wrestled in some Arena Mexico semi-main events, and had a NWA LH Title match against El Dandy. His career never advanced much farther.
