In lucha libre, power moves often are used to set up counters to flying moves.

Can broadly (if not quite comprehensively) be sorted into:

  • Slams : lifting & dropping the opponent back-first in front on you (typically falling with/onto them)
  • Suplexes : lifting & dropping the opponent back-first behind you
  • Powerbombs : lifting the opponent up over your shoulders & slamming them down back-first whilst still facing them
  • Drivers : lifting & dropping the opponent onto their head/neck
  • -Busters : driving a specific body part of the opponent's into the mat
  • -Breakers : driving a specific body part of the opponent's onto a body part of your own
