A moonsault bodyblock is a back flip which connects with a standing opponent. Most Asai Moonsaults are bodyblocks.
A moonsault press is a back flip which connects with a grounded opponent.
Moonsaults are most commonly done from the top rope, but can be done from standing on the mat, standing on the ropes (Asai Moonsault/Quebrada), from the apron, from the ring post, standing by the ring post, standing at the top of the ringpost and any other surface. Moonsaults are common moves in lucha libre, sometimes even more common as a dive than in the ring.
Allegedly invented by Mando Guerrero. And popularised by his brother Chavo.
