Biography

A talented second-generation wrestler from Puebla, La Fiera was a prodigy who had defeated Lizmark for the NWA World Welterweight Championship and wrestled in Arena Mexico all by the time he turned 21. He spent most of the early 1980s in a trio with Mocho Cota and Sangre Chicana called Los Guerreros, feuding with tecnicos and rudos alike. Fiera also found success in Japan, where he was chosen as the opponent for Tiger Mask II's debut. By 1990 he had become basically a nonentity in the EMLL, but he re-emerged in 1991 and stayed with the promotion for over ten years. Although many long-time fans would say that he never regained the ability that he showed in the 1980s, he still had many memorable matches in this second run as he put his hair on the line against Jerry Estrada, Dandy, Sangre Chicana, Negro Casas, and others.

Fiera's last bit of national relevance came in AAA, although by then his high-flying, big-bumping style had taken its toll. The man who had seemed destined for superstardom at age 20 didn't live to reach 50 years of age. He was stabbed to death in 2010.
