Overview

This page is an attempt to visualize the (murky, contradictory & redundancy-riddled) family tree associated with the Cobarde gimmick. Originally from Ciudad Juárez, the 4th generation were instead born in El Paso, Texas.

A fourth son of Impostor Jr. became a referee, going by the name "Chucky".^[5]

Vicky Carranza's father is Miguel Carranza, who wrestled as Carraza I.

According to an article interview, Midas was born April 2003, and debuted in late 2021. He formed the stable “Inglorious Bastards” with Marty Snow and Nolan Knight on February 21, 2022, with Cosmo Orion joining later. He's a middle brother age-wise, and tends to feud against the rest of the family on their shows. As emphasized by his decision to take an original name over a lineal one.

Dan Madigan's 2007 book "Mondo Lucha A Go-Go" mentions a "El Hijo del Cobarde Jr.", and emphatically states that he is the son of the original Cobarde ("not II"). It is possible that this was in error, as LuchaWiki itself said as such on El Cobarde's page at the time of his research, only to remove the "Jr." as the first edit after its release^[11] and change the relationship to "nephew" some years later.^[12] At any rate, Hijo del Cobarde is probably indeed Cobarde II's son, as his real name (likely sourced from his mask loss) is legitimately a "Jr." of Cobarde II's.

The family's penchant for re-using names has caused much confusion regarding their inter-relationships. Especially for the 2020s Cobarde, who was erroneously assumed to be the son of Cobarde II & thus the same man as his father.^[13] However, both his Facebook & CMLL's commentary^[14] are quite clear about his actual position. There has likewise been conflicting information on whether El Dragon is his brother or cousin.

The original Cobarde's page also lists an "El Cobarde Jr. (II)" as a third nephew. This is most likely an accidental duplication of El Hijo del Cobarde, who did frequently go by "Cobarde Jr."^[15] (and is literally "El Cobarde II Jr.").
