He was featured in the lucha libre loteria card collection, which featured illustrations of various wrestlers. Due to some of the wrestlers being obscure or regional wrestlers, it lead many fans to believe that Hacha Negra was a fictional creation. Results show that there was a Hacha Negra in the 1970's (and possibly up to the early 90's) that wrestled in Arena Lopez Mateos and this is assumed to be the same wrestler.
