Malayo was originally a Puebla indy guy who appears to have been trained by Centella de Oro. He made his Arena Puebla debut for CMLL a year into his career and became a regular by 2016, even becoming one of their trainers (and eventually losing his mask to one of his own top students).

The name itself directly translates as “The Malaysian”, although it is also a term used for the Damana people native to nearby Columbia.
