Powerslam
Not to be confused with Slam, a one-night member of AAA's Los Vatos Locos.
A Powerslam is a move in which the wrestler lifts an opponent off of their feet and drives their torso down to the mat (typically back-first) whilst falling on top of them (typically face-first) with their own body weight for extra impact.
The above video example is a snap scoop powerslam, one of the most common types. Another common one is the "Front" Powerslam, in which the attacker drapes the recipient over one shoulder (belly down, back facing forward, face nuzzled in the attacker's torso) and falls forward onto them. This can be preceded by a charge, AKA a Running Powerslam.
Other Variants include:
- Inverted Powerslam
- Emerald Frosion
- Side Slam
- Styles Clash
- Moonsault Fallaway Slam
- Jackhammer
- Spinebuster?
- Saka-Otoshi?
- Sidewalk Slam
- Kenny King's Fireman's Carry Powerslam
- Sean Stryker's Strykeout Slam (Elevated Powerslam)
- Frank Wyatt's/Amira Blair's Falling Powerslam
Few "slams" are not also powerslams. The Chokeslam and basic scoop bodyslam are among those few exceptions.
