Career
José Calzada Salazar, better known as "Piloto Suicida" or "Piloto Calzada" was a Laguna based luchador since 1986. Began his career as Piloto Negro and eventualy changed to Piloto Suicida due to his high risk style. He passed the name of Piloto Negro to his younger brother. Well respected by fellow wrestlers and fans.
He passed away on Sunday, May 24 at the age of 56 after suffering an accident during a performance at Arena Internacional in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.
According to early reports, Piloto climbed to the third rope during a match, but lost control and fell headfirst on the concrete floor outside of the ring, suffering serious injuries.
Paramedics immediately went to provide medical attention; however, when they checked him, they confirmed that he no longer had vital signs.
After the incident, elements of the police arrived at the scene to cordon off the area and facilitate the investigation work.
Likewise, agents of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Chihuahua began the corresponding proceedings to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
