He was a Guadalajara native and was said to have debuted in 1985. He competed under the name of Super Ponny in 1989 and later Linterna Verde(Green Lantern) in 1994. In 2003, he took up the Indian gimmick of Toro Negro (Black Bull), which is a very common lucha libre name and was a partner of Nube Roja. He made some appearances on CMLL's Guadalajara shows from 2004-2005 and 2015, most competing in the midcard. On June 6th, 2004, he teamed up with Virus for an 8-team tournament. The pair made it to the finals before being defeated by Alan Stone and Eddy Montana. His son took up wrestling under the name of Linterna Verde Jr.. Toro Negro passed away on September 26th, 2016.
