The Catedrático Jr. persona came from the imagnation of El Matemático. In 1980s, the tag team division was in its hey days, El Matemático was looking for a tag team partner; then he decided to design another mask and gear similar to his, but instead of numbers, there will be with alphabet letters. Matemático asked his brother to go as Catedrático. Eventually, the name and gimmick was passed to his nephew Catedrático Jr.
