			Irma Acevedo, born in [[Ciudad de Ponce]], [[Puerto Rico]], [[January 26]] [[1948]], never wrestled in her home territory. Acevedo was a star young athlete, winning first place in javelin, second in a discus throw and among the top 10 best in self defense in Puerto Rico.

			Acevedo's wrestling career started after meeting [[Mildred Burke]]. Irma's first match was in Japan in 1968, debuting against world champion Owata. Acevedo's wrestling took her all over the United States. Eventually, she came to mexico, where she wrestled such names as [Irma González]], [[Jane O'Brien]], [[Maria Vagnone]], [[La Jarochita Rivero]], [[Chela Salazar]], [[La Loba]], [[Tona La Tapatía]] and many more.

			Her wrestling career was put on hold after marrying, and having two children

			"La Tigresa" Irma Acevedo passed on Septmeber 14, 2004, in Los Angeles.
