Shared Names
Every name Mistico's used, someone else has also used. It hasn't always been planned that way, but it can be a bit confusing.

* Mistico is the more famous man under the name; the Juarez wrestler using the same name is also known as Incognito in AAA.
* Mistico started out as the second Astro Boy; he was the brother of the first. See Astro Boy (disambugation) for a list of other Astro Boys
* Similarly, Mistico was one of a number of wrestlers who've used the name Dr. Karonte. See Dr. Karonte Jr. (disambugation) for the others
* Mistico wrestled as Komachi for Japan's Michinoku Pro Wrestling, replacing Volador Jr. in that identity.
A Mistico biography will air on CAN52's Verdad y Fama on 12/03

Además Místico tiene un profile en Myspace y es el siguiente: http://www.myspace.com/mistico88
Raised in the notorious Tepito district of Mexico City, he began his career wrestling under his father's name as Dr. Karonte, Jr. at the age of 15. In 2000, he adopted the name of Astro Boy and started getting noticed working undercards for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. In 2004, he was repackaged as "Místico" with a religious gimmick. He debuted in Arena México in June and spent much of the following months teaming with Volador, Jr. and Misterioso II in the second or third matches on the card. He participated in the 6th Annual Leyenda de Plata tournament but his push didn't take off until he won the Gran Alternativa tag team tournament with established star, El Hijo del Santo. Shortly afterwards, the bookers began teaming him with other established técnicos (faces) such as Negro Casas and Shocker against the big rudo (heel) groups, Los Guerreros del Infierno and La Furia del Norte. His stature made him an underdog and his high flying moves such as diving armdrags made him popular with Mexico City crowds.

In 2005, he continued working against Los Guerreros, winning important singles matches against Rey Bucanero, Mephisto and Tarzan Boy in CMLL's secondary arena, Arena Coliseo. He won his first title by defeating Guerreros member Averno for the NWA Middleweight championship on February 11. The match was well received by the audience in attendance and fans near the ring threw money into the ring as a sign of appreciation. Two weeks later, he participated in his first singles main event match when he faced Guerreros leader Último Guerrero in Arena México. He won the fall in two falls after Guerrero was disqualified in the first fall and was pinned in the second with a small package. The match sparked a program with the recently turned Dr. Wagner, Jr. teaming with Místico against Último Guerrero and Rey Bucanero. After that program died down, Místico became involved in a feud with Perro Aguayo, Jr. and his Los Perros del Mal group. After defeating Aguayo in a singles match, the two exchanged hair vs. mask challenges so Místico was added to the already planned eight-man cage match where the last man in the cage lost his hair or mask. Místico joined Negro Casas, Heavy Metal, Universo 2000 and Máscara Mágica against Aguayo's group consisting of Damián 666, Halloween and Héctor Garza leading up to the match but neither Místico or Aguayo were involved in the finish of the match where Damián pinned Máscara Mágica.

In September, he reheated his feud with Último Guerrero with another singles match but in the third fall, he was attacked by Atlantis, turning Atlantis heel. Místico worked a short program with Atlantis but after he defeated Atlantis in a singles match in October, Atlantis focused more on former tag partner Blue Panther.

In 2006, Místico was the biggest star in Mexico. He main evented eighteen events during the year that drew more than ten thousand people. In the early part of the year, he teamed up with Black Warrior in two unsuccessful CMLL Tag Team Championship challenges. In the second one, Black Warrior turned on Místico and the two began a feud. While Black Warrior was wrestling in Japan, Místico and Negro Casas defeated Averno and Mephisto for the CMLL Tag titles on April 14. When Warrior returned, the feud picked up again and Black Warrior handed Místico his first major singles defeat when he pinned him and took his NWA Middleweight Championship on a May 12 Arena México show. On September 29, Místico defeated Black Warrior in a mask vs. mask match in the main event of the CMLL 73rd Anniversary show, his first major mask win.

After winning a singles match versus Averno, he won the right to fight him in a mask vs mask match. No date has been set yet.

Mistico was given a try out for World Wrestling Entertainment on February 27, 2007 at the ECW/Smackdown Tapings in San Jose, CA, wrestling Dean Malenko in a dark match. He was thought to be in contract negotiations with the WWE but no negotiations could take place when he admitted to John Lauriantas that he still has a CMLL contract. However, those close to Mistico believe he would be able to get out of his contract and still join WWE. There are concerns with his working visa, not being able to speak English, and being unfamiliar with the WWE ring style.

WWE are once again considering signing Mistico after Rey Mysterio expressed that Mistico is a great wrestler.
Biography
<font face="Verdana"></font>
is a Mexican professional wrestler who has worked for World Championship Wrestling, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, Extreme Championship Wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH, World Wrestling Entertainment and Xtreme Pro Wrestling. He is the son of Mexican wrestling legend Fuerza Guerrera (Warrior Strengh or Fighting Force in Spanish). Juventud Guerrera means "Fighting Youth" in Spanish.
Early in his career Guerrera was a main stay in the Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion promotion. He had a very lengthy fued with Rey Mysterio, Jr. in which they traded the AAA Welterwieght title back and forth. The pair also had several tag team matches in which Guerrera would team with his father Fuerza, while Rey, Jr. would tag with uncle and trainer Rey Misterio, Sr.

Juventud Guerrera wrestled in many Mexician independent promotions as a masked wrestler but he first gained American exposure in Extreme Championship Wrestling alongside fellow luchadores Rey Misterio Jr., Psicosis, Konnan and La Parka, all of whom were also wrestling for Konnan's Promo Azteca in Mexico at the time. When Konnan left for WCW, Juvi and the rest followed.

[edit] World Championship Wrestling
In WCW, Juvi made his WCW debut on August 26, 1996 in a victory over Billy Kidman. Prior to signing with WCW, he competed briefly in ECW. He would compete throughout 1996 and 1997 under a mask, like he had in Mexico and ECW. His most remembered matches of '96 and '97 were clashes with fellow luchadores Rey Mysterio and Psicosis. Guerrera pinned the Ultimo Dragon for the WCW Cruiserweight title on January 8, 1998. He would then lose the title to Rey Misterio, Jr., and Chris Jericho would beat him again in a Mask vs Title match forcing Juvi to unmask. Later in the year, Juvi defeated Jericho at Road Wild 98 to capture his second Cruiserweight Championship. He retained the belt at Fall Brawl '98 before losing it to Billy Kidman the following night on Nitro.

At Spring Stampede '99, Juvi faced Blitzkrieg in what many consider the 1999 Match of the Year. Later Juvi became an announcer on WCW Thunder, after he suffered an injury. Juvi often imitated The Rock by calling himself The Juice and saying The Rock's catch phrases. He joined Rey Mysterio, Konnan, Billy Kidman, and others to form the Filthy Animals and during the group's run, Juvi and Mysterio became the WCW Tag Team Champions.

Juvi was released from WCW after an "incident" in Australia where Juvi embarrassed the company by making a scene publicly while under the influence of what was believed to be PCP. The night before he smoked an unknown substance given to him by an unknown party at a nightclub. The next morning he ran into the hotel lobby naked and began attacking everyone in sight, including other wrestlers. It was his second offense as he had a previous DUI against him. WCW didn't even bother to tell Juvi that he had been released from his contract. He had to find out from his friends who had read about it on the internet.

Guerrera went on to wrestle for many other promotions including Xtreme Pro Wrestling, CMLL, WWA, AAA, and Frontier Wrestling Alliance He frequently teamed with Rey Mysterio in CMLL before Rey's signing with WWE. He joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

[edit] Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
In TNA, Guerrera was joined by fellow AAA wrestlers: Mr. Águila, Héctor Garza, Abismo Negro, Heavy Metal to form a group first know as Team AAA, then later as Team Mexico to compete in TNA's World X Cup Matches. Guerrera would also take part in the 2003 Super X Cup advancing through to the final only to be defeated by Chris Sabin.

When TNA's working relationship with AAA came to an end the group dispanded, and Juvi was released to continue working for Lucha Libre promotions.

[edit] World Wrestling Entertainmment
Juventud Guerrera had signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in spring 2005. He debuted on television, wrestling simply as Juventud (the Guerrera was dropped, possibly to avoid confusion with Chavo and Eddie Guerrero) on June 18, 2005, defeating Funaki on SmackDown!'s sister show Velocity. On June 23 he, Super Crazy and Psicosis (collectively called "The Mexicools") interrupted a match between Chavo Guerrero and Paul London by riding to the ring on a lawn mower and attacking both wrestlers.

This was followed week by week of The Mexicools interrupting matches and beating down seemingly random wrestlers and cutting promos, Juventud quickly established himself as the mouthpiece/leader of the group and began using his old gimmick name of "The Juice".

At the 2005 Great American Bash on July 24, The Mexicools defeated the bWo, a team led by Stevie Richards, in a six-man tag team match.

After more weeks of interruptions and sneak attacks, Juventud and the group were sent down to the SmackDown! B-show, Velocity. The group fueded with Velocity main-stay and Cruiserwieght Champion, Nunzio and his tag partner, Vito. Members of The Mexicools picked up numerous pin fall victories over the champion during this time.

At the October 4 SmackDown! tapings, for Velocity, Juventud (along with Super Crazy and Psicosis) faced Brian Kendrick, Paul London, Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki in an over-the-top battle royal with the stipulation that the winner would receive a title shot at the Cruiserweight Championship at No Mercy. After finally eliminating Paul London, Juventud won the battle royal and the title shot. At the event on October 9, he defeated Nunzio following a Juvi Driver to capture the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Juventud later went on to lose the title back to Nunzio at a live event in Italy. On November 25 however, Juventud regained the gold on an edition of SmackDown! from England, following a Juvi Driver. Guerrera lost the title to Kid Kash at Armageddon on December 18, 2005.

On January 6, 2006, WWE announced that Juventud had been released from the company. His final match aired that evening on SmackDown!, a Cruiserweight title rematch against Kid Kash which Juventud lost. During this match, Juventud would use many high flying moves - despite WWE telling its cruiserweights to tone down those aerial moves - and the 450 splash, a move WWE outright banned due to an earlier match Juventud had when he botched the move and ended up fracturing bones in Paul London's face. Because of these extra aerial moves, the match would end up going long over its assigned time. It is also said that Juventud tried to force a win for himself, making him champion. There is speculation that going long during the match cost Juventud his job; it was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back after a lengthy record of behavior problems during his short tenure with the company.

[edit] Asistencia Asesoría y Administración
Juventud Guerrera would return to Mexico to compete with AAA. Guerrera first appeared on April 30th and formed a new stable known as "Mexican Power" that will include Crazy Boy, who is the first cousin of Super Crazy, and Joe Lider.

During a TNA vs. AAA Mexico show, Juventud was one of the Mexican wrestlers who aided LAX attack A.J. Styles. This footage was later shown on the October 5, 2006 edition of TNA iMPACT!
[edit] Career

Super Dragon began wrestling in 1997. He competed in companies such as All Pro Wrestling, Revolution Pro, and Millennium Pro. In APW, he won the Internet Championship and wrestled in the King of the Indies tournament.

[edit] Early Career/Revolution Pro

Super Dragon's career began in a match against Tiger Joe, in the famous Anaheim Market place, though it was a losing effort, it was to be the debut of arguably Southern California's biggest star. Super Dragon became friends with Blitzkrieg, during a tour of Mexico Blitzkrieg became noticed by wrestlers backstage. After this Blitzkrieg and Super Dragon were granted a dark match for WCW with the help of American Wild Child, who was friends with Konnan. He joined Revolution Pro in 1999. Super Dragon was part of the New Generation that hit Revolution Pro along with Disco Machine, TARO, Excalibur, and Shogun. His first real peak was winning the Rev J in 2001, against B-Boy. During this time Dragon, along with other Rev Pro stars were featured on a few XPW shows. At Pride of the Mask on October 25th 2002, Super Dragon and Shogun won a tag team match. The stipulation was the two winners would face in a Mask vs. Mask match. Super Dragon beat Shogun and claimed his mask, adding to the increasing legend he was building throughout Southern California. Throughout his Rev Pro run, Dragon had made a change in his wrestling style and attire. Super Dragon had become a guardian of So Cal of sorts. Many young stars like Joey Ryan, Scott Lost, Scorpio Sky, and TARO had career matches with Dragon. His feud with TARO was especially a heated one. They had battled nearly five years, finally culminating in a Mask vs. Mask match at Revolution Pro's fourth anniversary show. The loser was to unmask. The match was seen as many to be one of the greatest in So Cal history, in the match Super Dragon sported an old-school mask he had worn previously. TARO was put to rest after a violent series of Lariats. After the match TARO announced his retirement, and unmasked, as he and Super Dragon embraced. This was perhaps seen as the high point of Revolution Pro. In March 2004, Dragon squared off against Babi Slymm, at Revolution Pro's "One Step Beyond" it was seen as arguably Revolution Pro's finest show.

[edit] Combat Zone Wrestling

Super Dragon started wrestling for Combat Zone Wrestling in 2002 at Best of the Best 2 against long time rival B-Boy. When he returned in 2004, he wrestled many tag team matches with partner Excalibur, and challenged Chris Hero for the Iron Man championship. In 2005, he was involved in a feud against The Blackout. At Cage of Death 7, Dragon beat Ruckus for the CZW World Heavyweight Championship. During the match, he gave Blackout manager Robbie Merino, who was already injured previously by Super Dragon, a Curb Stomp onto the stage. At the next show, An Afternoon of Main Events, Dragon teamed with the Kings of Pro-Wrestling (who were also feuding with Blackout) in a six man tag team match against Blackout, which turned into a brawl. Super Dragon lost the title back to Ruckus in February 2006 in a match also involving Kevin Steen.

[edit] Ring of Honor

The first time Super Dragon appeared in Ring of Honor at Do or Die II on March 13, 2004, when he defeated Excalibur. He would reapire two years later in 2006 as a part of Combat Zone Wrestling during their feud with ROH. Along with many other CZW wrestlers, he helped beat down B.J. Whitmer at Arena Warfare. At ROH's 100th Show, Dragon was part of Team CZW along with Chris Hero and Necro Butcher as they defeated Team ROH of Samoa Joe, BJ Whitmer, and Adam Pearce. This match saw Dragon hit a Psycho Driver on Whitmer from the apron to the floor through a table. Dragon lost his last match in ROH to BJ Whitmer when Whitmer gave him a Top rope Exploder '98 through a table on the floor.

[edit] Pro Wrestling Guerrilla

Super Dragon is one of the six owners of SoCal promotion Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, collectively known as the "PWG Six". At PWG's debut show on July 26, 2003, Super Dragon defeated M-Dogg 20. The next two PWG shows featured the Badass Mother 3000 tournament to determine the first PWG Championship. Super Dragon got to the semifinals, but was eliminated by Joey Ryan. In 2004, PWG held another tournament, the Tango & Cash Invitational to crown tag team champions. This time, Super Dragon made it to the finals with partner American Dragon, but lost to the team of Homicide and B-Boy.

Super Dragon was one of the original members of the S.B.S. stable along with Disco Machine and Excalibur. At PWG...The Musical, Dragon and Excalibur won the tag team titles from Chris Bosh and Quicksilver. They became the first team to successfully defend the titles, but later lost them to Joey Ryan and Scott Lost. At Free Admission (Just Kidding), Super Dragon beat Frankie Kazarian to win the PWG Championship. He defended the title against Samoa Joe, Homicide, Kevin Steen, and others, and lost it to AJ Styles at All Star Weekend - Night Two.

At Uncanny X-Mas after Dragon's match with Jonny Storm, a second Super Dragon came to the ring and attacked the real Super Dragon by delivering some of Super Dragon's signature moves. This man attacked again at All Nude Review, and just a few months later at Jason Takes PWG, Excalibur revealed himself as the mastermind of the attacks and defeated Super Dragon in a Guerrilla Warfare match with help from Kevin Steen, who was the second Super Dragon. Excalibur and Disco Machine kicked Dragon out of S.B.S. and replaced him with Steen. This began a feud between Steen and Dragon. At Chanukah Chaos (The C's Are Silent), Kevin Steen (who had won the PWG Championship from AJ Styles), was defending the title against Joey Ryan. During the match, Super Dragon came out and gave Steen two Psycho Drivers, causing him to lose the title. The feud ended in a Guerrilla Warfare match, in which Super Dragon came out victorious.

Super Dragon was forced to team with Davey Richards to challenge for the tag team titles against El Generico and Human Tornado at After School Special. Working well together as a team, Dragon and Richards managed to win the titles. They had a dominant reign and defeated many teams, such as Excalibur and Disco Machine, Cape Fear, Los Luchas, Kings of Wrestling, Roderick Strong and Jack Evans, and A. J. Styles and Christopher Daniels. Scott Lost and Chris Bosh defeated them for the titles at Enchantment Under The Sea. That night, Joey Ryan gave Super Dragon a Moustache Ride through a stack of tables and put him out of action.

Super Dragon returned to PWG on September 2nd as a participant in the Battle of Los Angeles tournament. On the first night, he defeated Necro Butcher, and on the second, he defeated Frankie Kazarian and Jack Evans. He advanced to the finals, but was unable to compete in the finals due to injuries he sustained in the previous night. Davey Richards would go on to win the tournament, but instead of wanting a World title shot, he wanted a rematch for the tag titles. The match was set to take place at Self Titled, but a conflict prevented Richards from being at the show. Instead of waiting for Richards to return, Super Dragon chose B-Boy as his partner and they went on to defeat Chris Bosh and Scott Lost for the championship. On November 17, 2006, Richards won the PWG World Tag Team Championship for a second time, teaming up with Roderick Strong to defeat the champions, B-Boy and Super Dragon. The next night, in the Main Event of the show, the duo lost the belt to the men they'd won them from. The match also included the Kings of Wrestling, as well as the team of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. Dragon won the match for his team after a Psycho Driver on Richards, showing the beginning signs of a feud between the two.

Soon after, Dragon and B-Boy lost the tag team titles to Cape Fear, and split as a tag team for the time being. Since then, Dragon has suffered defeats at the hands of Ronin in a singles match, and a pinfall by Los Luchas in a tag team match. Dragon broke his ankle, and is currently on the injured list.

Keiichi Yamada (???? Yamada Keiichi) (born November 30, 1964), better known as Jushin Liger (?????? - Ju¯shin Raiga¯) and later, Jushin "Thunder" Liger (?????????? - Ju¯shin Sanda¯ Raiga¯) is a Japanese professional wrestler who invented the Shooting Star Press.

Yamada was an amateur wrestler while studying in high school. He applied to New Japan Pro Wrestling to become a professional wrestler in the early 1980's. He was not accepted because he did not meet the height requirements they had at that time. Yamada was determined not to give up his dream of becoming a professional wrestler, so he left for Mexico and began his training there. By his own account, he was almost starving while studying there, so NJPW officials who were visiting took pity on him and asked him to come back to Japan. While continuing his studies, he had his debut match in December 1984 at the age of 20. He began studying various martial arts styles because he wanted to add something new and different to his wrestling style, which is how he learned his Rolling Koppou Kick.

He left for England in 1986 where he wrestled for All-Star Promotions as "Flying" Fuji Yamada. After returning to Japan, he debuted his Shooting Star Press in 1987, for which he had gotten the idea from reading a manga. He left for Canada early 1989, where he wrestled in Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling under his real name. He also trained under Hart in Hart's legendary "Dungeon." His experiences there led him to refer to Hart as a "very, very tough man". NJPW called him back to Japan, as they needed him for a gimmick based on an extremely popular anime superhero, Jushin Liger, created by celebrated mangaka Go Nagai. NJPW had done this previously with Tiger Mask, which had become a huge success. Yamada was given a superhero-like full body costume & demonic looking mask, resembling the superhero type featured in tokusatsu and anime programs.

Jushin Liger debuted in April 24, 1989 in NJPW. In his debut match, he defeated Kuniaki Kobayashi. The "Thunder" moniker was later added to distinguish him from the anime character. He quickly became one of NJPW's top Junior Heavyweights, eventually capturing the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title eleven times among numerous other titles and accolades while wrestling around the world. When appearing without his mask on, Yamada blocks his appearance by covering his face with one hand. Early on, Yamada's style mostly consisted of high flying. Later on, he started adapting more power moves and started focusing more on grappling and telling a story in the ring.

Jushin Liger's classic costume.

Jushin Liger also made appearances with WCW during the 90's. He made his debut in 1991 against Brian Pillman, and would later face many other opponents such as Chris Benoit, Ricky Steamboat, Rey Mysterio, Jr., and Juventud Guerrera.

In 1996, Yamada was diagnosed with a brain tumour which cost him his hearing in one ear. Weeks later, he recovered and returned to action. He adapted his wrestling style to help reduce the strain it was putting on his body. He adopted more of a ground-based style and to his credit, he was able to keep up an intensity that other wrestlers who have made a similar change were unable to maintain.

Liger has won two Super J Cup tournaments - the 1995 and 2000 events.

Currently, Liger is the leader of the NJPW heel stable Control Terrorism Unit (CTU) along with Hirooki Goto, Minoru Tanaka, Black Tiger IV, Gedo, Jado and briefly James Gibson.

On June 28, 2006, Liger was announced as a participant in the 2006 G-1 Climax, the third time he has appeared in the tournament.

In October 2004, Liger debuted in ROH, headlining their back-to-back "Weekend of Thunder" shows to huge acclaim. ROH selected Bryan Danielson as Liger's special opponent for that weekend. For Night 1, the two faced each other in a singles match, with Liger winning the highly competitive bout after a super brainbuster.

Night 2 would see a "dream tag-team" match in the main event. Liger chose then-ROH Champion Samoa Joe as his partner out of respect for Joe's accomplishments as ROH World Champion, and Danielson selected Low Ki to negate Joe. Liger again came out on top, pinning Danielson with a Liger Bomb to win the match.

Liger debuted in the American Total Nonstop Action Wrestling promotion on October 23, 2005 as part of their Bound For Glory pay-per-view, losing to Samoa Joe in a rare international appearance.

He was scheduled to face off against Christopher Daniels at TNA Lockdown 2006 on April 23, 2006. He had been unaware that the match was to be held in a steel cage, something in which he had never participated before. When he heard of this he cancelled the match. One of TNA's bookers Scott D'Amore has speculated that he didn't want to participate in the match due to it being in a new environment, fearing it would have hampered his performance. According to D'Amore, Liger had been unhappy with his previous TNA match against Joe which was cut short due to communication problems, and wanted his next TNA match to be better. D'Amore has also disproved the rumor that communication issues between TNA and NJPW had caused the match to be cancelled. Liger was not double booked to two events at the same time, like had been publicly speculated.

Liger was the captain of the New Japan team in the TNA 2006 World X Cup Tournament and defeated Team Canada's Captain Petey Williams at TNA Sacrifice on May 14, 2006 using a Crash Thunder Buster after Williams was distracted by the rest of Team Japan who draped the flag over Williams after Liger's victory. Liger was eliminated in the X-Cup Gauntlet later that night and Team Japan was unable to gain any points in the match as it was won by Team Canada with Team Mexico as runners up.
On October 10, 1996, The Great Muta faced off in a match with Liger. As the match progressed, Muta resorted to his underhand tactics that had become his style over the years. He tore at Liger's mask and eventually ripped it off, but Liger kept his face down on the mat. After grabbing a chair outside the ring, Muta entered the ring but before he could hit Liger with it, Liger stood up and revelaed his face to be painted pale white and spit mist into Muta's face (another Muta trademark). He tore off his bodysuit and revealed a painted chest, then proceeded to fight more aggressively the rest of the match. Despite losing, the match remains a personal favorite of many Liger and Muta fans.

On July 30, 2006, Liger once again pulled out the "Kishin" gimmick and faced off with rival BAD BOY Hido in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The story was that Hido had cut a piece of Liger's hair and Liger vowed revenge, so he transformed into Kishin Liger. Liger won the match with a brainbuster onto a steel chair.

The gimmick is a variation of The Great Muta gimmick which relies on bloody and evil tactics in a match, using mannerisms and imagery that differ from the person's normal ways.

<br clear=all>Masanori Murakawa (?? ??, Murakawa Masanori?), born July 18, 1969, is a Japanese professional wrestler who is better known by his stage name The Great Sasuke. He has wrestled in Japan and in the United States in various wrestling promotions. He is said to have an incredible tolerance for pain, mainly in reference to the injuries he has had including a cracked skull on 2 occasions.

In his early days he used the name Masa Michinoku. Masa, from his given name Masanori, and Michinoku, after the alternate name for his Japanese home region, To¯hoku. Taka Michinoku adopted a similar gimmick to parody him. Later, on a tour of Mexico, he adopted the mask, uniform and name Ninja Sasuke. This was the predecessor to the Great Sasuke gimmick he would adopt upon returning to Japan.

He is also the owner, and founder, of Michinoku Pro Wrestling in Japan, the first Japanese independent promotion not to be based around the Tokyo area.

As part of an agreement between Michinoku Pro Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation, Sasuke was part of the tournament to crown the first WWF Light Heavyweight Champion of the modern wrestling era in 1997. Although Sasuke was heavily pushed to be the big winner of the tournament, he would later brag to the Japanese media how he would only defend the title in Japan had he won the title and would refuse to drop the title on WWF television. When the WWF caught wind of Sasuke's comments, Sasuke was fired as well as his working agreement with them dissolved, although a former member of Michinoku Pro, TAKA Michinoku, would end up winning the title.

In 2002, he briefly turned heel and started using the name SASUKE, using blue stripes on his mask instead of the red stripes shown in the photo above. However, Jinsei Shinzaki brought him back from the dark side by "exorcising the evil out of him".

On April 13, 2003, the Great Sasuke won election to the Iwate Prefectural Assembly, making him the first actual masked legislator in history. He is the fourth Japanese wrestler to get elected to office. Antonio Inoki, Hiroshi Hase and Atsushi Onita preceded him, though all of them were elected to the Japanese Diet at the national level.

The Great Sasuke recently announced his plans to run for governor of Iwate in an upcoming election. [1]
[edit] Career

Biography
<font face="Verdana">
LA Park is a regular in CMLL. He's recently turned rudo in Mexico City, but still wrestles as a tecnico in many places and outside of CMLL. When he started his current stint with CMLL, he was presented as a freelancing outsider, and it's unclear if he still maintains that status (or if there's any real meaning to that distinction.)

As a tecnico, LA Park was getting a negative reaction from some of the tecnicos fans in 2006. (It's comparable, though not nearly as loud, as what happened with Atlantis a year earlier.) On April 30, 2006 - a special Kid's Day show at Arena Mexico - LA Park turned on his partners Mistico, Negro Casas, and Heavy Metal. Park teased a feud with Mistico and at an alliance with Perros del Mal, but his rudo turn has ended up more focused on a feud with Dr. Wagner Jr.

LA Park is best known to North American wrestling fans for his stint in World Championship Wrestling, where his trademark was striking his opponents over the head with a chair; thus, the nickname Chairman of the Board came into play. He is also remembered for his strutting and leg-wiggling dancing.
Adolfo Tapia started wrestling in 1982, but he did not really start making a name for himself until he started wrestling as the masked La Parka in 1992. His costume and mask are a skeleton resembling the outfits used in Mexico's Day of the Dead ceremony. He is a very flamboyant wrestler, sometimes wearing sombreros to the ring, playing guitar on the chair he always brings to the ring, strutting and dancing in the ring, and even strutting on the turnbuckle.

His biggest and longest running feud in Mexico was against Lizmark. They feuded for years. He also feuded with Jerry Estrada, Konnan, Super Calo, La Calaca and Pierroth, Jr. He frequently teamed with Psychosis. He was part of the "When Worlds Collide" joint AAA/WCW PPV in 1994 and wrestled briefly in ECW in 1995.

In 1996, he went to WCW and picked up his feud with Super Calo. He became known as "The Chairman of WCW" because he would hit his opponents with a chair, stand it up and pose on it after strutting. In 1997, he reformed his team with Psychosis with Sonny Onoo as their manager. They feuded with Wrath, Mortis, and Ultimo Dragon. By 1998, he had left Onoo and feuded with Disco Inferno and Psychosis. He was used on some WCW PPV's but never got a push to the top. In June 1998, he tore his ACL in a match after a Goldberg spear. He returned in September and got into some trouble for competing in Mexico without Eric Bischoff's permission.

In November 1998, he joined Eddie Guerrero's Latino World Order (LWO) with Psychosis, Juventud Guerrera, Los Villanos, El Dandy, Silver King, Héctor Garza, Damien, and a reluctant Rey Misterio Jr.. They feuded with Konnan and Perry Saturn. The LWO disbanded in January 1999 when Guerrero was injured in a car accident. La Parka started teaming with Silver King and picked up his feud with Super Calo again. He briefly feuded with Eddie Guerrero upon his return since Eddie caused the LWO to disband.

When Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara took over booking in late 1999, they had Ferrara's voice speaking English over the intercom while La Parka would be doing interviews in Spanish in the ring. The voiceovers would comically explain La Parka was a fan of Skeletor from Masters of the Universe, hence his in-ring wear. This ended after a few weeks when La Parka heard something he did not want said and tossed the mic down as Ferrera was speaking. By early 2000, he had left WCW for Mexico where he had some trouble with the AAA promotion over the use of the La Parka name. They had it trademarked and he did not want to work for them, so he changed his name to L.A. Park and debuted with AAA's rival, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. In January of 2004, Park and Shocker defeated Los Guerreros Del Infierno for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship. Rey Bucanero and Último Guerrero would win their titles back in a rematch in March but L.A. Park challenged Último Guerrero for the CMLL Light-Heavyweight title at the CMLL 71st anniversary show but was unsuccessful. He continued wrestling in CMLL as well as independent promotions in Tijuana and else where in the country.

2002 and 2003 saw him wrestle for XPW, All Japan Pro Wrestling, Major League Wrestling and the revived AWA Superstars. In 2004, he made brief appearances in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, using his chair on his opponents, but was soon back in Mexico teaming with Shocker. In 2005, L.A. Park can be found wrestling in his native Mexico and in the United States for LXW and UCW and occasionally for FCW.

In October 2005 L.A. Park debuted for Detroit's Independent Wrestling Revolution (IWR) brand "Revolucha", teaming with American Kickboxer vs. El Hijo del Santo & Konnan, with special referee Zach Gowen. Park continued his rivalry with El Hijo del Santo culminating in May 2006 at Revolucha 2: "Dia de los Muertos" inside "Lucha en la Juala" (a steel cage match). Both Park and Santo had their masks ripped 50% off their faces during this violent cage match. In February 2006, L.A. Park began a bitter feud with then IWR Champion Conrad Kennedy III (CK3). L.A. Park finally defeated CK3 in August 2006 at "Brawl at the Hall" and is currently the IWR/Revolucha Heavyweight Champion.

As of June 2006, he's currently still performing on the CMLL, has become a heel and has had a very successful run of matches on Mexico, mainly due to his current feud with Dr. Wagner Jr., which have a very positive fan reaction. In one of their most recent matches, which happened on the Arena Mexico in June 9, 2006, L.A. Park won when he faked a foul and Dr. Wagner Jr. was disqualified.

Controversy over the La Parka gimmick
LA Park is the original La Parka from AAA in the early '90s and the one who was in WCW and XPW. The rights to the gimmick of La Parka have been the subject of court battles since La Parka left AAA; so far, they've ruled that AAA owner Antonio Pena owns the name and the look, and LA Park can not use the "La Parka" on television in Mexico. (He's allowed to and does use La Parka in the US and elsewhere.)
