Biography
Began his career as a bodybuilder turned pro-wrestler. Canek took him under his wing and during the dying days of the UWA tried to make Cibernético the new big star by giving him a 20+ match win streak which included singles and tag matches. When the UWA folder, Canek persuaded Antonio Pena to take Cibernético and give him a chance.

Cibernético became long time member of AAA, as well as it's splinter rudo faction LLL. In 2004, he created the group La Secta Cibernética - a psuedo-religious cult, with Cibernetico as it's leader.

Cibernético brought in Muerte Cibernética to take care of long tme rival La Parka Jr., the man who took Cibernético's mask. This move went badly: La Parka Jr. took Muerte's mask as well, and then Muerte took over leadership of La Sect when Cibernetico suffered a knee injury. Cibernetico is still recovering, but appears to becoming a tecnico based on his non-wrestling involvement. Cibernetico's expected to return to the ring either at the close of 2006 or the start of 2007.

While appearing on a Mexican TV show, Cibernético got into a fight with Mexican boxer Jorge Kawaghi. The two were supposed to have an arm-wrestling match, but it turned into a small brawl before they were pulled apart. Cibernetico and AAA have steadfatly claimed it was a legitimate unscheduled brawl, but footage and news reports later exposed the staged nature of the fight. Nonetheless, Cibernetico's become a minor celebrity due to the brawl, and AAA's attempted to capitalize it (and repeat it, with Tiffany and Esterllita also getting into 'real' fights on Mexican talk shows.)

There's been no in-ring match between Cibernetico and Kawaghi as of yet, but it may still occur after Cibernetico recovers from his knee injury. Cibernetico's absence from the ring was originally explained as a suspension for getting into the fight, but they seemed to have dropped the cover story to focus in on Cibernetico's knee instead.

Ciberenetico has a real life relationship with Estrellita, which was brought into storylines in 2006.

But now he is currently dating actress/model/tv host Sabrina.

Cibernetico is the second AAA World Heavyweight Champion, beating first champion El Mesias on March 16, 2008 at Plaza de Toros Monumental

History of Championship
The AAA World Heavyweight Championship was created to be the one grand championship in AAA. It's not the first attempt the promotion and people around it have tried with the concept: the IWC World Heavyweight Championship kinda had this purpose, while the AAA Campeón de Campeones Championship more explicitly tried to fill that void. Both belts failed, and became a part of the collection of miscellaneous championships held by AAA wrestlers. The goal of the initial tournament was to take those other titles out of play.

An 8 man tournament was held to determine the first champion. The rules, and structure, of the tournament appeared to change as the tournament was taking progress. The promotion seemed to, after the fact in some cases, stipulate that all tournament matches involving champions were also title matches were possible, causing some wrestlers to pick up book keeping title changes as things progressed.

The final match between Chessman and Mesias had hardcore match elements, as typical for AAA main event matches in this era. Mesias was injuried when a planned ladder dive went short. Cibernetico soon involved in himself in the match, and the referee awarded the match and the title to Mesias. Mesias was expected to win the championship, but the finish might have been changed due to the injury. Mesias was carried to medical help after the match.
Notes
Muerte Cibernetica is a top AAA rudo, having been brought into the company by Cibernetico to take out his long time rival La Parka Jr. Muerte wore a modified Parka mask at times, and feuded with Parka Jr. for months leading up to the main event of Triplemania 2006. Parka triumphed in the mask mask, just as he did previous with Cibernetico, and Muerte's renamed himself Asesor Cibernetico at the moment (though it hasn't really caught on.) This is the classic "foreigner brought in under a mask to lose to a big star (to the surprise of few)" storyline, but Banderas has gotten positive reviews for his work and is expected to stick around post-mask loss.

With Cibernetico unable to compete due to injuries, Asesor Cibernetica has threatened to take the leadership of La Secta from him. It's unclear if the members of the group will go along with this.
It featured Mexico's best luchadores at the time such as Rey Mysterio, La Parka and Juventud Guerrera during the late 1980s and early 1990s and was also featured on American television via the Fox Sports en Español channel.

CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre) is the oldest active promotion in the world. It's the promotion which runs Arena Mexico and Arena Coliseo in Mexico City, and has done so for decades. The first show was held on September 21, 1933, and they hold a annual anniversary show, one of the biggest show in Mexico of the year.

The Lutteroth family owns CMLL. It was started by Salvador Lutteroth, and is currently owned by his grandson, Paco Alonso. Paco and his family have always considered themselves as boxing promoters who happen to also run lucha libre events (though the lucha libre is far more profitable), and their main contribution to the direction of the company is their long standing dislike for Antonio Pena and his rival AAA promotion. Most of the day to day decisions are made by a former wrestlers who are now part of the front office.

The promotion names CMLL and EMLL are functionally interchangeable. Technically, the name change occurred in 1991, but the company didn't change in any other way at the time.

Current Champions
Starting in 1991, and CMLL created a set of World Championships, as direct replacements for NWA titles. Titles are far less emphasized in CMLL than most promotions in the world. Wrestlers treat winning them as a great achievement, but CMLL only occasionally does title chase stories. It's common for title belts to be nearly forgotten for months, even years. Titles are also often defended in small arenas, gaining no press, and making the title look inactive.

CMLL has five different weight divisions. In different times, weight divisions were stritcly adhered to in Mexico, but they're almost always ignored at the present.

CMLLTitleBox

CMLL's roster also includes wrestlers who hold UWA, WWA, NWA, Mexican National, IWRG, and other titles. As long as they have a belt with them, CMLL will seems to have no problem in acknowledging their championships.

Major Events
CMLL's calendar is dominated by two annual events, one of which has nothing directly to do with wrestling.

Every winter, CMLL will close down it's main arena, Arena Mexico, and shift those weekly Friday shows to the smaller Arena Coliseo. (The break is to allow the circus to take up the space instead, and to make some general repairs.) The break from Arena Mexico creates a pseudo off season for CMLL, with many stars taking time off during the period. It also creates easy markers for major shows: CMLL will run a major show to open the Arena Mexico season (January / February - varies depending on business) and one to close the season (December), though they're not always exactly the first and last show.

Every year, CMLL will run a major show on or near September 21st, to commemorate the birth of the promotion, which is generally treated as the birth of lucha libre. CMLL will usually try to aim to have a major mask or hair mask on this date. (See: CMLL Anniversary Show Results)

CMLL will usually have another major show scheduled around late June, and may have more big shows, or none at all, depending on how business is going and the availability of major matches to headline those shows.

Weekly Events
Most weeks, CMLL will directly promote three events: a Friday show at Arena Mexico, and a Tuesday and a Sunday show at Arena Coliseo, both in Mexico City. CMLL will also contract out it's wrestlers to other arenas and promoters around the country (and the world), who pay CMLL for the use of talent and are on their own to promote them. CMLL will mention some of these other events on it's website and it's television show - the shows at Arena Coliseo Guadalajara and Arena Puebla in particular - but most promoters are on their own.

CMLL is also currently has four hours of television from it's events on air. There's a weekly 2 hour show, mainly featuring matches from Arena Mexico, and two one hour shows mainly featuring matches from the Sunday Arena Coliseo show. (See: Lucha Television Information)

Asistencia Asesoria y AAdministracion (Assistance, Consulting and Administration) is a touring lucha libre promotion founded in 1992 by the late Antonio Pena. The promotion usually holds cards in suburban areas or places with regular promoters in Mexico, and is known for its outlandish gimmicks and characters. AAA is regularly broadcast on Televisa in Mexico and Galavisión in the United States.

AAA is also referred to as PAPSA (Promociones Antonio Pena S.A.). It's been a long held belief that Televisa (AAA's television partner) owns the AAA name and the promotion keeps the PAPSA name visible in case they ever left Televisa and had to change names. The names AAA and PAPSA are interchangeable.

History
AAA was established on 15 May 1992 when EMLL booker Antonio Peña left the company to establish his own. Along with Konnan, much of the young and exciting talent defected to AAA, which left CMLL with a middle-aged roster and a seemingly bleak future. AAA also looked for talent from other markets, as they found and signed Tijuana natives Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Psicosis. The promotion flourished with top talent (such as El Hijo del Santo, Octagón, Blue Panther and the Casas brothers) and top draws (Los Gringos Locos, Cien Caras, Konnan and Perro Aguayo). The rising popularity of AAA soon caused rival UWA (Universal Wrestling Association) to fold, and Peña was quick to sign Canek, Dos Caras and Los Villanos.

The peak of what is considered AAA's "golden years" (1993-1995) was the When Worlds Collide Pay-Per-View, which was promoted in conjunction with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and broadcast in the United States on November 8, 1994. Two weeks after the show, Art Barr (a key member of Los Gringos Locos) died while visiting his family, while resulted in the AAA Tag Team Championships being vacated. In addition, Eddie Guerrero departed the promotion to compete full-time in Extreme Championship Wrestling (where Art Barr was planning to go as well), and Madonna's Boyfriend also departed the promotion. El Hijo del Santo also departed as a result of creative problems, and would soon be followed by stars such as Fuerza Guerrera and Blue Panther when the Mexican economy began to slow down. Many of the promotion's young stars (such as Rey Misterio, Jr., Psicosis, La Parka, and Juventud Guerrera) signed with WCW in 1996. In early 1997, AAA established a working agreement with WWE, but the only significant outcome was that several luchadores were featured in the 1997 Royal Rumble.

AAA continues to sell out big arenas (like Toreo de Cuatro Caminos) for their big shows (such as Triplemanía and Guerra de Titanes), despite the fact that their talent pool isn't as deep as it once was. On 6 October 2006, founder Antonio Peña died of a massive heart attack.

The promotion is currently performing on the Vans Warped Tour.

Working Relationship with TNA Wrestling
AAA developed a working relationship with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2004. Through the relationship, AAA sent luchadors Juventud Guerrera, Hector Garza, Abismo Negro, Heavy Metal, and Mr. Aguila to TNA to compete in the America's X-Cup Tournament as a contingent known as Team Mexico. Team Mexico dominated the America's X-Cup Tournament, defeating Team USA in the first round before retaining the Cup against both Team Canada and Team Britain. They eventually lost at the World X-Cup, which saw Team USA defeat Team Canada and Team Mexico in the Ultimate X finals to win the Cup.

Following the World X-Cup, Hector Garza jumped ship to AAA's primary rival, the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. It was reported that Garza was upset that he was not compensated by Pena for dates he worked with TNA as per their original agreement. Garza has worked for CMLL since.

Due to multiple reasons, TNA and AAA broke off their working relationship late in 2004. TNA continued utilizing luchadors, but opted to contract them individually as opposed to working through AAA. It is rumored that this break in the relationship was due to problems the company had with AAA owner Antonio Pena, who was said to have been a difficult man to work with at times. In 2006, AAA and TNA worked again for an event in Toreo de Cuatro Caminos, utilizing some of TNA's talent and stage (which includes the tunnel and lasers). After Konnan left TNA in June 2007, it is unknown if TNA and AAA will continue their working relationship.
