== Biography ==

 

José Ángel Nájera Sánchez, best known under the ring name of Fishman, was a Mexican professional wrestler who became one of Lucha Libre's biggest stars during the 1980s with the Universal Wrestling Association.

Fishman debuted in late 1969 under the name Goliath Reyes but changed it during 1970 to Titán. In 1971 he changed his name once again this time to Fishman and it is under this name and mask that he achieved his fame.

Fishman rose to notoriety in the UWA, holding the federation’s Lightheavyweight Title 4 times(tied with Karloff Lagarde for most title reigns). In his time in the UWA Fishman competed in many “Mask Vs Mask" matches always coming out with his trademark green and yellow mask in place beating such well known Luchadors as Sangre Chicana and Rey Misterio Sr.

After the UWA folded, he went with some of the other UWA wrestlers to AAA through the mid 1990s and later on also wrestled independently in Mexico. On August 27, 2000 Fishman put his mask on the line against Máscara Sagrada and lost.

En mas de 30 años de carrera Su camino fue siempre seguro, busco y logro conquistar el campeonato nacional de peso welter y era muy difícil que alguien lo pudiera parar y como entre rudos también hay rencores, las máscaras legendarias de El Cobarde, Sangre Chicana, Rey Misterio, Cinta de Oro y El Faraón quedaron en las manos del Poderoso “Veneno Verde”

Sus primeras mascaras ganadas fueron en Ciudad Juarez la del Profesor Konak en 1970 en la deportivo arena México y la de Titán, La del Yaqui en 1971, en 1974 la de El Monarca en zacateca, que resulto ser José Luis Hernández, Después de esto, Fishman ganaría mascaras de mas prestigio.

En 1975 debido a que se entrelazó una grande rivalidad con otra figura: El faraón, solo había una solución para saber quién era el mejor, y es que los dos venían empujando fuerte y la única manera de decidir la supremacía era un duelo por las tapas. la mascara esmeralda de El Faraón se cotizaba muy alto y lo mismo sucedía con la del Veneno Verde; Fishman, pero solo habría un ganador, y precisamente fue el Faraón el favorito para ganar esa lucha, pues una buena racha lo acompañaba en duelo de apuestas sosteniendo una gran cantidad de combates sin conocer la derrota, enfrentando así a un peligroso Fishman que solo dos semanas atrás había conquistado el campeonato Nacional Welter, y en ese combate no estaba dispuesto a perder, y; llego el día (23 de abril de 1976)y en un gran combate y después de tres caídas cayó la tapa de el Faraón ante el desconcierto de la gente, Fishman sin saberlo, solo este seria el comienzo de sus grandes luchas de apuesta donde apostaría y defendería su mascara y obtendría mas Tapas y cabelleras celebres, como la del Perro Aguayo y Dorrel Dixon.

Mientras Fishman se consolidaba como estrella, surge otro gran luchador que alcanzó el pleno esplendor en la época de los Grandes Colosos de la "Seria y Estable" antes de que surgiera el movimiento Independiente: Sangre Chicana, el prácticamente arrasó con el cuadro y no había quien se atreviera a ponerle un hasta Aquí, y gracias a su manera desaforada de luchar, provocar al publico, solo como un verdadero Rudo sabe hacerlo, se ganó a pulso el Mote con el que después se haría mas popular (el pocho maldito) y no había lugar donde se parará que estuviese en calma, al solo conjuro de su nombre, ya se sabia que el desorden estaría presente y que habría bronca garantizada. porque como es bien sabido, Richardson no era precisamente un querubín, al contrario, le gustaba desatar la tormenta y armar, como hasta ahora lo sigue haciendo, la cruel Batalla, pero no todo fue maravillas en la carrera del "Pocho Maldito", pues cuando su desatada trayectoria luchistica iba en Ascenso, hubo un Hombre que decidió marcarle un alto y se encargaría personalmente de hacer lo que muchos estetas de ese tiempo habían deseado, averiguar quién se encontraba tras la mascara Escarlata del Incontrolable Rudo Chicano: Fishman.

Ese era el tiempo en que los duelos de Mascaras importantes estaban en su apogeo y donde la supremacía se decidía por medio de este tipo de combate de apuestas y fue de esa manera que un 23 de septiembre de 1977, en un triangular de apuestas entre 3 grandes: Fishman, Sangre Chicana y El Cobarde (+), en esta batalla campal, el Cobarde salva su tapa y Fishman logra vencer al pocho maldito, cayendo así la tapa de Sangre Chicana ante otro Incontenible y Legendario Gladiador; apodado el "Veneno Verde" y mejor conocido como Fishman, quién se encargó de detener momentáneamente la carrera del Pocho al dejar al descubierto el rostro y darnos a conocer el nombre real de Chicana..., pues el Hombre del Oceano; Fishman ganaba una mascara importante en su también naciente carrera mientras el Pocho Maldito ganaba mas popularidad sin la tapa.

Una semana después de la victoria contra el Pocho maldito, el 30 de septiembre se enfrenta en otro duelo de Mascara vs. Mascara contra su Maestro y mejor amigo de toda su vida; El Cobarde (+), un luchador juarense que había dejado huella en México y Japón, pero los dos amigos sabían que una de las dos mascaras de gran prestigio tenia que caer y así en una gran lucha, el Veneno Verde logra desenmascarar a la leyenda bicolor dando a conocer su verdadera identidad: Miguel Angel Delgado, sin duda fue un momento triste para su gran amigo Fishman.

Años después en Reynosa gana la mascara del Medico II y la del ídolo de Tijuana Baja California: Rey Misterio el 25 de Marzo de 1988 en el auditorio de Tijuana, luego en Ciudad Juárez, Fishman nuevamente apostaría su Mascara contra una figura local: El maestro Cinta de Oro, que seria un adversario de calidad y de peligro para el látigo lagunero.

Indudablemente seria una gran lucha de pronostico reservado entre estos dos colosos de la lucha libre juarense, en la que cualquiera de los dos podría ganar, ya que ambos gladiadores se encontraban en el mejor momento de sus respectivas carreras.

El día llego y desde el inicio del encuentro ambos gladiadores mostraron lo mejor de sus habilidades y conocimientos de llaves y técnicas, en la tercera caída Cinta comete un error, esto lo aprovecho Fishman y gana con esta victoria, la mascara de Cinta de Oro, que se convertiría en la ultima Tapa ganada por el veneno verde.

== Biography ==

Kendo made his pro debut in [[1972]] and wrestled as El Brillante (The Brilliant One) in his home country of the Dominican Republic, as well as Panamá, for several years. While wrestling in Panamá, [[Perro Aguayo]] and [[Anibal]] discovered him and took him to the [[UWA]]. His Mexican debut was in [[1981]], and he wrestled for several years in small arenas still as El Brillante. Under that name, he lost his mask to [[Dos Caras]] and his hair to [[Blue Panther]].

He became Kendo on [[August 1]], [[1984]] at El Toreo and adopted a Martial Arts gimmick along the lines of "Los Fantasticos": [[Kato Kung Lee]], [[Kung Fu]] and [[Black Man]]. He was a regular lightweight El Toreo undercarder and teamed many times with [[El Hijo del Santo]] against rudos like [[Negro Casas]] and [[Blue Panther]]. In the smaller arenas, he was also a part of several "Fantasticos" trios with Kato, Black Man, [[Avispón Negro]] and [[Silver King]].

Kendo lost his mask to Blue Panther in May [[1988]] at the Auditorio Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno ("[[Auditorio de Tijuana]]"). This was a big match, and he definitely was paid well, but... without his mask, his popularity went down big time. He'd do the same jumps, taunts, and tricks, but without the mask his charm was gone. Seeing that his career was going downhill, he (along with [[Ultramán]], whose case was exactly the same,) asked the commission for permission to get masked again but both petitions were rejected.

However, his luck changed in [[1990]] when he was sent to Japan for a tour with [[Gran Hamada]]'s [[Universal Pro]]. He put his mask back on and got over HUGE. The Japanese crowds loved him and would continuously cheer his name while clapping. He came back to Mexico with renewed spirits and got masked again as Kendo Star (his cousin, [[Salsero]], would later wrestle as Kendo Star too), but people knew it was a fraud so he was stuck in the undercard. A few weeks later, [[Kato Kung Lee II]] was born. [[Benjamín Mora]] (Tijuana promoter) got real mad since he knew it was Kendo and he was the one who booked the Kendo vs. Panther mask match, so KKL II ended early. At the same time, [[El Celestial]] also appeared in the UWA. This was Black Man I, who, funnily enough, suffered the same fate as Kendo after losing his hood. Everybody in Mexico and Japan thought that Celestial was Kendo, so, by Kendo's request, the Japanese magazine Weekly Gong broke the story that Kendo was Kato II. This had everyone confused, so they had Celestial and Kendo together in a photo spread to prove they were different luchadores, and Black Man I finally admitted he was Celestial.

Kendo had a bad rep and he wanted a change, so he became Transformer (not to be confused with AAA's 1995 [[Transformer AAA|Transformer]]) in both Mexico and Japan. With the UWA going down, Ezequiel ended up in [[PROMELL]] and changed his name to Ninja de Fuego. As PROMELL and [[AAA]] co-promoted during some months, he also wrestled some for [[Antonio Peña]]. PROMELL later became [[Promo Azteca]] and Kendo stayed there, though during [[1997]] he was booked in some CMLL Japan tours where he used both the Ninja and Kendo gimmicks.

On December of [[1997]], he jumped to [[CMLL]], where he still wrestles. He underwent a final name change in July of [[1998]] and became Super Kendo, though he hasn't totally dropped the Ninja de Fuego gimmick as he still uses it from time to time. Kendo is still an Arena Coliseo and Mexico undercard feature and he tours Japan several times a year competing for [[Great Sasuke]]'s [[Michinoku Pro]]. As a fun fact, Kendo is also a mask designer (during the late 80s and early 90s he had a big masks shop) and the original designs of all his masks are his own creations.

Kendo made his pro debut in [[1972]] and wrestled as El Brillante (The Brilliant One) in his home country of the Dominican Republic, as well as Panamá, for several years. While wrestling in Panamá, [[Perro Aguayo]] and [[Anibal]] discovered him and took him to the [[UWA]]. His Mexican debut was in [[1981]], and he wrestled for several years in small arenas still as El Brillante. Under that name, he lost his mask to [[Dos Caras]] and his hair to [[Blue Panther]].

He became Kendo on [[August 1]], [[1984]] at El Toreo and adopted a Martial Arts gimmick along the lines of "Los Fantasticos": [[Kato Kung Lee]], [[Kung Fu]] and [[Black Man]]. He was a regular lightweight El Toreo undercarder and teamed many times with [[El Hijo del Santo]] against rudos like [[Negro Casas]] and [[Blue Panther]]. In the smaller arenas, he was also a part of several "Fantasticos" trios with Kato, Black Man, [[Avispón Negro]] and [[Silver King]].

Kendo lost his mask to Blue Panther in May [[1988]] at the Auditorio Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno ("[[Auditorio de Tijuana]]"). This was a big match, and he definitely was paid well, but... without his mask, his popularity went down big time. He'd do the same jumps, taunts, and tricks, but without the mask his charm was gone. Seeing that his career was going downhill, he (along with [[Ultramán]], whose case was exactly the same,) asked the commission for permission to get masked again but both petitions were rejected.

However, his luck changed in [[1990]] when he was sent to Japan for a tour with [[Gran Hamada]]'s [[Universal Pro]]. He put his mask back on and got over HUGE. The Japanese crowds loved him and would continuously cheer his name while clapping. == Biography ==

Kendo made his pro debut in [[1972]] and wrestled as El Brillante (The Brilliant One) in his home country of the Dominican Republic, as well as Panamá, for several years. While wrestling in Panamá, [[Perro Aguayo]] and [[Anibal]] discovered him and took him to the [[UWA]]. His Mexican debut was in [[1981]], and he wrestled for several years in small arenas still as El Brillante. Under that name, he lost his mask to [[Dos Caras]] and his hair to [[Blue Panther]].

He became Kendo on [[August 1]], [[1984]] at El Toreo and adopted a Martial Arts gimmick along the lines of "Los Fantasticos": [[Kato Kung Lee]], [[Kung Fu]] and [[Black Man]]. He was a regular lightweight El Toreo undercarder and teamed many times with [[El Hijo del Santo]] against rudos like [[Negro Casas]] and [[Blue Panther]]. In the smaller arenas, he was also a part of several "Fantasticos" trios with Kato, Black Man, [[Avispón Negro]] and [[Silver King]].

Kendo lost his mask to Blue Panther in May [[1988]] at the Auditorio Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno ("[[Auditorio de Tijuana]]"). This was a big match, and he definitely was paid well, but... without his mask, his popularity went down big time. He'd do the same jumps, taunts, and tricks, but without the mask his charm was gone. Seeing that his career was going downhill, he (along with [[Ultramán]], whose case was exactly the same,) asked the commission for permission to get masked again but both petitions were rejected.

However, his luck changed in [[1990]] when he was sent to Japan for a tour with [[Gran Hamada]]'s [[Universal Pro]]. He put his mask back on and got over HUGE. The Japanese crowds loved him and would continuously cheer his name while clapping. He came back to Mexico with renewed spirits and got masked again as Kendo Star (his cousin, [[Salsero]], would later wrestle as Kendo Star too), but people knew it was a fraud so he was stuck in the undercard. A few weeks later, [[Kato Kung Lee II]] was born. [[Benjamín Mora]] (Tijuana promoter) got real mad since he knew it was Kendo and he was the one who booked the Kendo vs. Panther mask match, so KKL II ended early. At the same time, [[El Celestial]] also appeared in the UWA. This was Black Man I, who, funnily enough, suffered the same fate as Kendo after losing his hood. Everybody in Mexico and Japan thought that Celestial was Kendo, so, by Kendo's request, the Japanese magazine Weekly Gong broke the story that Kendo was Kato II. This had everyone confused, so they had Celestial and Kendo together in a photo spread to prove they were different luchadores, and Black Man I finally admitted he was Celestial.

Kendo had a bad rep and he wanted a change, so he became Transformer (not to be confused with AAA's 1995 [[Transformer AAA|Transformer]]) in both Mexico and Japan. With the UWA going down, Ezequiel ended up in [[PROMELL]] and changed his name to Ninja de Fuego. As PROMELL and [[AAA]] co-promoted during some months, he also wrestled some for [[Antonio Peña]]. PROMELL later became [[Promo Azteca]] and Kendo stayed there, though during [[1997]] he was booked in some CMLL Japan tours where he used both the Ninja and Kendo gimmicks.

On December of [[1997]], he jumped to [[CMLL]], where he still wrestles.
