Misterioso II's career year so far has been 2006. Misterioso won the Gran Alternativa teaming with [[Perro Aguayo Jr.]], which gave him a sort of associate membership in Perros del Mal for a while. Only 6 weeks later, Misterioso took the mask of respected luchador [[El Pantera]] in an [[Arena Mexico]] cage match.

Misterioso has plateaued as a midcard rudo since 2006. Misterioso is seen as a good rudo, and quality opposition for the many CMLL high flying tecnicos, but has rarely gotten showcases matches on his own.

He's been grouped with other [[La Laguna]] area wrestlers at times, but didn't have a permanent group of his own. At a time where almost every pushed rudo was being set up in one group or allied with another, Misterioso was noticeably kept on his own. Misterioso also missed out on a scheduled trip to [[NJPW]] as an opponent of [[Mistico]] in 2009, when his appearance was canceled due to the H1N1 virus outbreak. Misterioso did pick up the regional [[Occidente Light Heavyweight Championship]] twice during this time, but not much was made of it outside of Guadalajara.

Misterioso finally got to join a group in 2009. [[Poder Mexica CMLL|Poder Mexica]] needed a new third as [[Black Warrior]] drifted from the group and drafted Misterioso. The new trio continued the entertaining work of the previous alignment, but were unable to win the [[Mexican National Trios Championship]] in multiple chances.

Misterioso was promoted as "Misterioso II" exclusively around his debut, but started to be inconsistently listed as "Misterioso Jr." somewhere along the years until Misterioso Jr. became the dominant spelling. As of 2010, Misterioso and CMLL claim "Misterioso Jr." is his official name, which has caused conflict with [[Misterioso Jr. (Monterrey)|another wrestler claiming he alone owns the right to "Misterioso Jr."]].

The "King of Yougurt" nickname originated from his time as Super Araña, as "puro yogur" (pure yougurt), a humorous mis-transcription of one of his entrance theme's lyrics. [[Dr. Alfonso Morales]] tweaked it to "El Rey de Yogur" once he signed with CMLL, as it simply sounded better. His flabby arms helped it persist as a gag.

[[Laguna]] based luchador tecnico who resides in [[Nuevo Laredo]]. His first ring name was '''Megatron''', but it had nothing to do with the character of the Transformers franchise. The name came up from the Megaton explosive (the TNT equivalent), he added an "r". He used that name for 13 years, when he went to reside to Nuevo Laredo, he changed his gimmick after 3 years as Astuto. He always admired [[Tiger Mask]] and he looked for a similar mask design.

Traveled almost all over Mexico and seen in venues such as [[Arena Coliseo Guadalajara]], [[Arena Coliseo Monterrey]], [[Arena Puebla]], [[Arena Isabel]], [[Arena Coliseo Papá Milo]], [[Arena Coliseo Matamoros]], including cities such as Durango, Laredo, Matamoros, Guanajuato, Mazatlan, and more.

Astuto is head trainer at [[Arena Escuela de Lucha Libre Astuto Centauro]] in Nuevo Laredo. == Profile ==

Laguna based luchador rudo since 1982. He was trained by [[Héctor López]] and continued with [[Halcón Suriano]] and La Sombra and spent four years to become a professional wrestler. His debut was on March, 1982, he went in a tag team match with [[Estrella Azul]] against [[El Canalla]] and [[Mano Blanca]]. Began under the name of Latino as a técnico enmascarado, however he made the rudo turn and stayed on that side for the rest of his career. His time as enmascarado was short-lived, lost his mask barely two months after his debut. Nevertheless, that loss did not affect his career; he made a rudo turn and he enjoyed it and felt more comfortable without the mask.

Used the name of Cavernario Galindo Jr. with the permission of Rodolfo Galindo, but he previously wrestled as El Gran Cosaco for about a year until he received the Copyright approval to use the Cavernario name. Both Cavernarios made tours together. Cavernario Galindo Jr. wrestled in almost all over Mexico, in small and big arenas, also in venues in The United States. Well known for his rudo style and a fan favorite. In despite of being a lightweight wrestler, he was able to raise in the ranks and to go against much heavier opponents. Had memorable matches against [[Rubén Juárez]], [[Fabuloso Blondy]], Rick Patterson, [[Gigante Silva]], and more.

Retired of the active competition on 2007 due to health issues. As Cavernario Galindo Jr. never lost an apuestas match, but he decided to shaved his head voluntary on the ring by [[Stuka]].

Has been promoter and coordiantor at Arena Colón. There is a new Cavernario Galindo Jr. wrestling under his permission.

== Profile ==

Laguna based luchador rudo since 1982. He was trained by [[Héctor López]] and continued with [[Halcón Suriano]] and La Sombra and spent four years to become a professional wrestler. His debut was on March, 1982, he went in a tag team match with [[Estrella Azul]] against [[El Canalla]] and [[Mano Blanca]]. Began under the name of Latino as a técnico enmascarado, however he made the rudo turn and stayed on that side for the rest of his career. His time as enmascarado was short-lived, lost his mask barely two months after his debut. Nevertheless, that loss did not affect his career; he made a rudo turn and he enjoyed it and felt more comfortable without the mask.

Used the name of Cavernario Galindo Jr. with the permission of Rodolfo Galindo, but he previously wrestled as El Gran Cosaco for about a year until he received the Copyright approval to use the Cavernario name. Both Cavernarios made tours together. Cavernario Galindo Jr. wrestled in almost all over Mexico, in small and big arenas, also in venues in The United States. Well known for his rudo style and a fan favorite. In despite of being a lightweight wrestler, he was able to raise in the ranks and to go against much heavier opponents. Had memorable matches against [[Rubén Juárez]], [[Fabuloso Blondy]], Rick Patterson, [[Gigante Silva]], and more.

Retired of the active competition on 2007 due to health issues. As Cavernario Galindo Jr. never lost an apuestas match, but he decided to shaved his head voluntary on the ring by [[Stuka]].

Has been promoter and coordiantor at Arena Colón. There is a new Cavernario Galindo Jr. wrestling under his permission.

== Biography ==

Tamba was born Francisco ("Panchito" or "Pancho") Arreola Gaona on May 27, 1950. I'm not 100% certain of this date, but he may have debuted in 1970 under a mask that he lost around four years later. I believe that he was a grandson of Octavio Gaona, known because of being the first Mexican NWA World Middleweight champion.

Tamba made a name for himself in the independent circuit because of his high workrate for such a big man. He then moved on to the bigger independent circuit of Lucha Libre Internacional (L.L.I. aka the UWA). He got over well because of his style. He wasn't smooth or all that fast, but he was a hard worker and seeing such a huge man flying around the ring with ease was quite a sight. At this time is when he gained his "Elefante Volador" (Flying Elephant) gimmick.

He always was low/mid-card Toreo guy, but he got the occassional main event runs many guys got back then, having a rivalry with Canek (including a hair vs. mask match), and he also got to team with Andre The Giant to draw against Canek and Perro Aguayo at the main event of the Jan 16, 1982 El Toreo card.

He formed a famous tag team with Canek, and had runs as a part of a regular trio, one of them with Canek and El Cobarde II (who was paired up with Canek so he'd get "the rub" by being the partner of the #1 star in the country) called Los Desarmadores, and one of them with Perro Aguayo and Fishman called Los Invencibles.

Another important event of his career was going to Japan on March of 1983 where he faced Tiger Mask three times in singles matches.

Perhaps the biggest change during Tamba's career came when he was put in a team with Abdullah the Butcher. Reportedly, Abby actually liked him and sent him to Puerto Rico (to wrestle for Carlos Colón) and when he came back he was billed as "Abdullah Tamba". Like most overweight wrestlers, his run as a worker was done when he started gaining more weight and his knees couldn't take it anymore, so this was a smart move for him. Abby was so over in Mexico, that now Tamba could get over easily doing very little and relaunch his career with a new and fresh gimmick.

By the early 90s he was nearly immobile and he was mostly inactive though he'd come back a few months a year to appear at some cards, usually Toreo or Arena Neza (the two most important buildings LLI/UWA ran at the time) cards, and now he was back as a "legendary babyface" kind of figure.

On February 28, 1992, Tamba lost a "Hair vs. Career" match to Tigre Canadiense (Mike Lozanksy). This was like an Onita retirement, because he at least wrestled once 4 months later at El Toreo, though he didn't do much more after that because his body wouldn't let him.

I hadn't heard of Tamba until 12 months or so before his death, when it was said in the Observer that he was very ill and he suffered of diabetes. Lately he was living in Ciudad Juarez. He was a known alcoholic and had been to hospital several times for alcohol related problems. People that I know that saw him shortly before he died, said that he looked terrible and that it was clear that he didn't have a lot of life left.

Tamba died on September 6, 2001 in Tijuana. A curious thing about this is that a few years ago, sometime around the mid 90s, nobody knew his whereabouts and there were huge rumors of his death to the point that he had to appear in the mags to actually show that he was alive and well.

== Notes ==
Rudy and Marco Antonio (He preferred to be addressed as "Tony") were lifelong friends since childhood. Rudy affectionately referred to Tony as his "mancuerna" or themselves as "senos companeros" (Affectionately, they were "cufflinks" - a pair and brothers at heart). Rudy wrestled together with Tony and against him before the creation of Los Hermanos Carta Brava. Rudy began wrestling in his early teen years as a masked wrestler named Enigma and then La Silueta Azul. He laughed when he talked about his early years as a luchador stating that he quickly learned what Mexican wrestling was about and how serious the sport was. He never forgot the "beating" (as he described) that he took in those first few years and ultimately when he lost his mask as La Silueta Azul. His brother Carlos would later wrestle as "La Silueta" but would only have a short run of a wrestling career. At one point, during a wrestling card, while Carlos was wrestling as La Silueta, he was in need of a replacement opponent when his original opponent was injured before the match. The promoters not knowing that the Carlos and Rudy were related, asked Rudy to fill in as El Galeno. Rudy did not know that Carlos had taken over the name of La Silueta and Carlos did not know Rudy was wrestling as El Galeno. The match was apparently a blood bath since the two wrestlers gave it the all and the match was declared a draw. (The two brothers were also very much into boxing, so it was not uncommon to come home beaten up). It was only until they were in the dressing room that Rudy discovered that Carlos had been his opponent. In those times, masked wrestlers hid their profession and identities not only from the public, but also from family members. (Such was the case with Huracan Ramirez). Rudy also wrestled in Central America for one year as Charro Gomez.

Rudy then wrestled as the enmascarado "El Galeno" and as the unmasked wrestler "Ruddy Gomez". He would wrestle as a rudo (bad guy) or a tecnico (good guy) depending on where he was able to find a wrestling match and what kind of wrestler the promoter needed for that fight card. Rudy also wrestled against Marco Antonio before becoming Carta Brava II. Rudy stated that he and Marco Antonio would train together on a daily basis perfecting their moves and techniques and because their moves were identical to each others, it would later lead to public confusion of who was who (Carta Brava I or Carta Brava II). Marco Antonio would always identify himself and Rudy as Los Hermanos Carta Brava and did not like being identified as Carta Brava I and Carta Brava II. Rudy said he never knew of Marco Antonio wrestling as a rudo.

During wrestling tours throughout Mexico as Los Hermanos Carta Brava, if another wrestler did not have an opponent or a replacement was needed, Rudy would wrestle as "Ruddy Gomez" or as "El Galeno" again, depending on what the promoter needed. Rudy never tired of wrestling and lived to wrestle anywhere there was a venue to wrestle in.

One of Rudy's most memorable feuds was against the James Brothers (Peter and Jimmy James). Rudy wrestled against the brothers in the mid 1950's as "Ruddy Gomez", then later as Los Hermanos Carta Brava. During a match against the James Brothers, Jimmy James kicked Rudy in the back as he was getting up after being thrown. The injury to his back left Rudy unable to wrestle for almost one year. A note of understanding about the mask design of [[Carta Brava]]: Rudy related that Marco had actually created three designs for the [[Huracán Ramírez]] persona after having played the part himself in the beginning of the persona and the first movie. Marco Antonio even did the wrestling scenes in the first movie as Huracán Ramírez. Rudy had also related that although Marco wanted the part of Huracán Ramírez, he was not willing to pay Jose Rodriguez for the use of the name and wrestling persona. Rudy related that Marco Antonio and the Rodriguez family were friends and understood it was a business decision on their part to request payment for the use of the name and character. Marco Antonio then created the persona of Carta Brava and began wrestling under the new name with a solid black mask and black trunks. Rudy had talked about the way masks were evolving and becoming more elaborate with the designs and colors. Rudy had always wanted to see the Carta Brava mask in a more brilliant color but retain its original design. He did state the face of the mask was meant to be dark or to be the same color as the mask itself since the name Carta Brava meant "Wild Card" as in a card game. The opponent was never to know the face of the other player.

Rudy was surprised when he learned that Marco Antonio had lost his mask on September 1, 1972 to [[Leon Negro]]. Marco Antonio was a devout wrestler and protected the persona of Carta Brava. Rudy did say that they both received long-lasting injuries from their careers as luchadores and it was most probable that Marco Antonio succumbed to those earlier injuries in his later life as a luchador. An interesting note: Leon Negro was a student of Marco Antonio and it was the student who finally defeated the master.

After retiring to the United States, Rudy taught wrestling to those who aspired to learn lucha libre.

It was not known exactly how Marco Antonio died since they both lost communication with each other after Marco Antonio had lost his mask. Rudy died of kidney failure at home with his family. The last mask he wore as Carta Brava II in the 1970's was given to his granddaughter who keeps it encased and mounted in her living room along with a large picture of him. The original mask that he used in the early 1960's along with his wrestling gear and the famous "maleta" he carried his gear in, is retained by his grandson and inheritor of the mask and Carta Brava name.

Rudy and Marco Antonio (He preferred to be addressed as "Tony") were lifelong friends since childhood. Rudy affectionately referred to Tony as his "mancuerna" or themselves as "senos companeros" (Affectionately, they were "cufflinks" - a pair and brothers at heart). Rudy wrestled together with Tony and against him before the creation of Los Hermanos Carta Brava. Rudy began wrestling in his early teen years as a masked wrestler named Enigma and then La Silueta Azul. He laughed when he talked about his early years as a luchador stating that he quickly learned what Mexican wrestling was about and how serious the sport was. He never forgot the "beating" (as he described) that he took in those first few years and ultimately when he lost his mask as La Silueta Azul. His brother Carlos would later wrestle as "La Silueta" but would only have a short run of a wrestling career. At one point, during a wrestling card, while Carlos was wrestling as La Silueta, he was in need of a replacement opponent when his original opponent was injured before the match. The promoters not knowing that the Carlos and Rudy were related, asked Rudy to fill in as El Galeno. Rudy did not know that Carlos had taken over the name of La Silueta and Carlos did not know Rudy was wrestling as El Galeno. The match was apparently a blood bath since the two wrestlers gave it the all and the match was declared a draw. (The two brothers were also very much into boxing, so it was not uncommon to come home beaten up). It was only until they were in the dressing room that Rudy discovered that Carlos had been his opponent. In those times, masked wrestlers hid their profession and identities not only from the public, but also from family members. (Such was the case with Huracan Ramirez). Rudy also wrestled in Central America for one year as Charro Gomez.

Rudy then wrestled as the enmascarado "El Galeno" and as the unmasked wrestler "Ruddy Gomez". He would wrestle as a rudo (bad guy) or a tecnico (good guy) depending on where he was able to find a wrestling match and what kind of wrestler the promoter needed for that fight card. Rudy also wrestled against Marco Antonio before becoming Carta Brava II. Rudy stated that he and Marco Antonio would train together on a daily basis perfecting their moves and techniques and because their moves were identical to each others, it would later lead to public confusion of who was who (Carta Brava I or Carta Brava II). Marco Antonio would always identify himself and Rudy as Los Hermanos Carta Brava and did not like being identified as Carta Brava I and Carta Brava II. Rudy said he never knew of Marco Antonio wrestling as a rudo.

Rudy was surprised when he learned that Marco Antonio had lost his mask on September 1, 1972 to [[Leon Negro]]. Marco Antonio was a devout wrestler and protected the persona of Carta Brava. Rudy did say that they both received long-lasting injuries from their careers as luchadores and it was most probable that Marco Antonio succumbed to those earlier injuries in his later life as a luchador. An interesting note: Leon Negro was a student of Marco Antonio and it was the student who finally defeated the master.

After retiring to the United States, Rudy taught wrestling to those who aspired to learn lucha libre.

It was not known exactly how Marco Antonio died since they both lost communication with each other after Marco Antonio had lost his mask. Rudy died of kidney failure at home with his family. The last mask he wore as Carta Brava II in the 1970's was given to his granddaughter who keeps it encased and mounted in her living room along with a large picture of him. The original mask that he used in the early 1960's along with his wrestling gear and the famous "maleta" he carried his gear in, is retained by his grandson and inheritor of the mask and Carta Brava name.

== NOTAS EN ESPANOL ==

Ha habido mucho misterio y especulación sobre el nombre Carta Brava y los dos Carta Brava Jrs actuales. Esta biografía fue creada para dejar en claro el origen y la trayectoria de la [[Carta Brava]] original y su pareja de lucha Rudy Gomez - Carta Brava II.

Rudy y Marco Antonio (prefirió que se le llamara "Tony") fueron amigos de toda la vida desde la infancia. Su hermano Carlos más tarde lucharía como "La Silhueta", pero solo tendría una carrera corta como luchador. En un momento, durante una cartelera de lucha, mientras Carlos luchaba como La Silhueta, necesitaba un oponente de reemplazo cuando su oponente original se lesionó antes del combate. Los promotores, sin saber que Carlos y Rudy eran parientes, le pidieron a Rudy que reemplazara como El Galeno. Rudy no sabía que Carlos había tomado el nombre de La Silhueta y Carlos no sabía que Rudy estaba luchando como El Galeno. El combate aparentemente fue un baño de sangre ya que los dos luchadores lo dieron todo y el combate fue declarado empate. (Los dos hermanos también estaban muy interesados en el boxeo, por lo que no era raro volver a casa golpeado). Fue solo hasta que estuvieron en el vestuario que Rudy descubrió que Carlos había sido su oponente. En aquellos tiempos, los luchadores enmascarados ocultaban su profesión e identidad no solo al público, sino también a sus familiares. (Tal fue el caso de Huracán Ramírez). Rudy también luchó en Centroamérica durante un año como Charro Gómez.

Rudy luego luchó como el enmascarado "El Galeno" y como el luchador desenmascarado "Ruddy Gomez". Lucharía como un rudo o un técnico dependiendo de dónde pudiera encontrar un combate de lucha libre y qué tipo de luchador necesitaba el promotor para esa cartelera. Rudy también luchó contra Marco Antonio antes de convertirse en Carta Brava II. Rudy declaró que él y Marco Antonio entrenarían juntos a diario perfeccionando sus movimientos y técnicas y debido a que sus movimientos eran idénticos entre sí, más tarde llevaría a la confusión pública de quién era quién (Carta Brava I o Carta Brava II). Marco Antonio siempre se identificaría a sí mismo y a Rudy como Los Hermanos Carta Brava y no le gustaba ser identificado como Carta Brava I y Carta Brava II.

Una de las peleas más memorables de Rudy fue contra Los Hermanos James (Peter y Jimmy James). Rudy luchó contra Los Hermanos a mediados de la década de 1950 como "Ruddy Gomez", y luego como Los Hermanos Carta Brava. Durante un partido contra Los Hermanos James, Jimmy James pateó a Rudy en la espalda mientras se levantaba después de ser arrojado. La lesión en la espalda dejó a Rudy sin poder luchar durante casi un año. Después de recuperarse, Rudy y Marco Antonio desafiaron públicamente a Los Hermanos James a una revancha. El promotor armó el combate y después de un violento, largo y prolongado combate de 3 asaltos, Los Hermanos Carta Brava puso fin a la carrera de lucha libre de Los Hermanos James.

===Similitudes en el diseño de la máscara con el de Huracán Ramírez===

Una nota de comprensión sobre el diseño de la máscara de Carta Brava: Rudy relató que Marco Antonio había creado en realidad tres diseños para el personaje de [[Huracán Ramírez]] después de haber interpretado el papel él mismo al comienzo del personaje y la primera película. Marco Antonio incluso hizo las escenas de lucha libre en la primera película como Huracán Ramírez. Rudy también había relatado que, aunque Marco Antonio quería el papel de Huracán Ramírez, no estaba dispuesto a pagarle a José Rodríguez por el uso del nombre y el personaje de lucha libre. Rudy relató que Marco Antonio y la familia Rodríguez eran amigos y entendieron que era una decisión comercial de su parte solicitar el pago por el uso del nombre y el personaje. Marco Antonio luego creó la personalidad de Carta Brava y comenzó a luchar bajo el nuevo nombre con una máscara negra sólida y calzon negro.

Dos de los diseños que creó para la máscara de Huracán Ramírez se quedaron con la personalidad de Huracán Ramírez. Marco Antonio mantuvo el tercer diseño. ===Confusión de nombre Carta Brava===

Después de que Rudy se retiró en 1971 para mudarse a los Estados Unidos, otros dos luchadores asumieron el nombre y la máscara de Carta Brava. Ninguno de estos luchadores está relacionado con los luchadores originales. Marco Antonio le dijo a Rudy que permitió que otros dos luchadores usaran el nombre de Carta Brava después de que Rudy se hubiera retirado. Además, ninguno de los luchadores originales se asoció con las nuevas versiones. Uno de los luchadores, [[Perro Sosa]], perdió la máscara en un combate poco después de asumir el nombre de Carta Brava. [[Bobby Bolaños|Roberto "Bobby" Bolaños]] también usó el nombre de Carta Brava y rápidamente perdió su máscara en 1972.
