Biography
Usually called La Leyenda Viviente(the living legend), Mil was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Some bios list his birth year 1938, 1941 or 1942 or even 1944, but the most common date is 1942.

The character of Mil Mascaras was announced before his debut. The gimmick is a creation of "El Rey Midas de la Lucha Libre", Valente Perez, and in fact, the first appearances of Mil Mascaras were not by the current (and long time) man under the mask. Valente came up with the idea of of Mil wearing a different mask for each presentation, and this has sometime expanded to him wearing two masks for matches, throwing one to the crowd.

Mil made his debut as Ricardo Duran, and was trained by Diablo Velasco. He was the first Mexican and the first masked man who appeared in the Madison Square Garden, and he's famous in Japan.

One of Mil's first feud matches was against Benny Galant, who Mil beat for his hair. Mil has had notables feuds Canek, Gran Markus Jr. and El Halcón. Mil's popularity has also increased due to his movies.

He's still wrestling today.

Biography
Dr. Wagner Jr. is the top tecnico not wearing a silver mask in CMLL. He's a young legend to the fans, a wrestler with international experience (and success!) and capable of a great match when he wants one. Dr. Wagner is one of the most popular wrestlers in Mexico, and an iconic figure.

Wagner turned tecnico following the death of his father. The change was fan inspired; Wagner was in a four way mask match on the first Arena Mexico show after his father's passing, and the fans did not want him to lose his mask that night under any circumstances. Wagner did not lose his mask, and the crowd clung to him after that moment. Wagner and the promotion tried to go back to the status quo after, but the fans cheered him enough to make a change.

Dr. Wagner becoming a tecnico had ripple affects across the promotion. Since he was feuding with Canek, Canek had to turn rudo to continue it. Later, in 2005, the fans loudly picked Wagner over Atlantis when they were setting up a mask versus mask match, to the point where Atlantis was tainted as a tecnico (and had to be turned rudo) and Wagner had become so popular, the match couldn't be done at a profit to all sides.

Even though the mask match never took place, Atlantis and Wagner continue to be rivals, with the idea all sides might one day do the match in a different arena where the money works out better. (The feud with Canek has slipped to the wayside.)

More pressing for Dr. Wagner at the moment is a feud with another recently turned tecnico, LA Park. As with Atlantis, the crowd turned on LA Park with no prompting, and he responded in kind. Wagner stuck up for the people of "his house", and he and Park have had violent brawls in the weeks since. A Park/Wagner mask match would seem to have the same financial issues as the Atlantis one, but that's the way they seem to be heading.

Wagner often teams with Mistico, as a big brother/protector to the smaller wrestler. He'll also team with his newly unmasked brother, Silver King, who has been wrestling in some locales as Dr. Wagner Jr. II or el Hermano de Dr. Wagner Jr. Wagner has shown himself capable of wrestling Japanese junior and lucha technical styles, but his current feuds and positioning has resulted in him primary working as a brawler with hot comeback moves.

Dr. Wagner Jr. still potentially has many years left in his career. However, he's often said to have saved well from his career and could retire early. It's believed he was going to lose his mask to Atlantis when that match was originally scheduled, which could have been the one last big payoff of his career. Instead, it seems like he's going to hang around for a while longer.
<!-- Bio -->

Biography
<font face="Verdana">
Canek is one of the most charismatic wrestlers Mexico has ever had, one of the biggest lucha box-office draws ever and also a well-known wrestler in Japan, as he'd often tour for Antonio Inoki's New Japan Pro Wrestling during the 80s.

Canek, who was an impressive athlete during all his life and a former bodybuilder and amateur wrestler, made his professional debut as El Universitario at age 18. The history goes like this: El Matematico no showed a main-event at the Arena Jardín, so the promoter (a part time wrestler called Black Bat II) asked the young man him to sub Matematico. So that day, "Universitario" teamed with El Angel Azul (Blue Angel) to take on El Profeta and El Chilango García. Several months after that fight, his first partner, Angel Azul, sold him one of his outfits and then El Príncipe Azul (Blue Prince) was born. Under that name he was quite successful, as he took the mask and then the hair of Ultratumba, and also the hair of El Noruego, plus that same year 1972 he was prized with the best wrestler of Villahermosa, Tabasco award. It should be noted that the wrestlers that first trained him were Indio Azteca, Maciste, El Remington I and El Chacal.

He later decided to get a new name, so he came up with the name Canek, based on the name of the Mayan warrior Jacinto Canek. Canek's debut match also happened to be during the 1st card ever at a new building that later would become one of the most important Mexican arenas during the 80s: El Toreo De Cuatro Caminos. That 24th of March of 1973, Gallo Tapado and Chicano Power fought "Kanek" (spelled like that) and TNT in the main event, while As Charro and Tony Salazar faced El Lince and El Cóndor in the semi main-event.

In Mexico City, Canek started training with the Mexican-Korean former wrestler Felipe Ham Lee, Sugi Sito, and the original Fantasma de la Quebrada, at the Ham Lee Gym. Some time later, Ham Lee got René Guajardo to book Canek for a few tours around Northern Mexico, but in the first match Canek had a bad day and he was so terrible that Guajardo sent him back to Mexico City. However, some time later, Guajardo was in the capital and saw Canek again, but this time Canek put on a hell of a match so René invited The Mayan Prince to wrestle for his promotion during a whole year. There, Canek won the Northern Mexico Heavyweight Title defeating Jose Torres, the masks of El Destroyer (Marco Tulio, Antifaz's dad), Lemus, and the hair of Sunny War Cloud, Ruben Juarez, and the same Jose Torres.

In 1975, Francisco Flores decided to try to finish with EMLL's monopoly of the lucha libre business in Mexico and create a big independent promotion. The 29th of January, the UWA (Universal Wrestling Association) was born, and it had a debut card full of stars, a show in which Canek wrestled too, teaming with Dory Dixon and Sunny War Cloud to lose against the dream team of Mil Mascaras, Ray Mendoza and El Solitario. In this new promotion, Canek wrestled as a rudo.

Canek started to rise to real stardom after he won the National Light Heavyweight Title defeating "El Galeno Del Mal" Dr. Wagner (Sr.) the 15th of January of 1978 in Mexico City. He'd lose that title a few months later (June 20, 78) against Dos Caras in Pachuca, Hgo. This was the start of one of Mexico's most important rivalries ever.

With Mil Mascaras out of the country most of the time cashing the big paychecks from Japanese and American promoters, and Guajardo and Mendoza getting older, the UWA needed a new generation of leaders, and Canek and Dos Caras were perfect for those positions. As Dos Caras would join his brother Mascaras on his Japan tours most of the time, Canek became "the chosen one". The 27th of September of 1978, Canek defeated Lou Thesz to get his first ever UWA World Heavyweight Title reign. By defeating Thesz, Canek gained international exposure. Around the same time, the UWA got a talent trading deal with the New Japan Pro Wrestling office. Japanese superstars like Antonio Inoki or Riki Choshu would come to Mexico to wrestle against Canek, and also, Canek would travel to Japan to face superstars like Tiger Mask or Tatsumi Fujinami.

Canek's big matches against the foreign superstars at the UWA headquarters of El Toreo de Naucalpan drew huge gates to the point that this formula kept being used for more than a decade. New Japan would send a couple of their big stars at a time, those would usually trade the UWA title with Canek just to lose it in the big re-match a couple of months later.

In October of 1983, Canek vacated the UWA title and decided to try wrestling in the US. He had already wrestled in the States, as he participated in the '81 and '82 editions of the New Japan hosted MSG Tag Leagues (first teaming with Super Maquina, then with Perro Aguayo) and the '70 edition of the MSG singles tournament, but this time he went to wrestle in Texas. After three weeks he decided he preferred to wrestle in Mexico, though in the future he had several other small So-Cal and Northern Texas tours, and in the late 80s he wrestled many times at Los Angeles' Olympic Auditorium.

During the 80s he basically main evented the UWA cards against every foreign big name available. Some of his most memorable matches were the one in which he defended his UWA title bodyslamming and defeating Andre the Giant in two straight falls (Feb 12, 84), his 3rd fall draw against Hulk Hogan (Sept 2, 84), and his title defense against "The Lariat" Stan Hansen (Sept 30, 84) which he won via DQ. Of course Canek would also defend and trade his UWA title with national talent, in fact, from mid-83 to late-89 the UWA wouldn't have a foreign heavyweight champ (though Killer had a foreign rudo gimmick). Some of the national workers Canek wrestled against were Perro Aguayo, Scorpio, Enrique Vera, Villano III and Dos Caras.

But "los independientes" (name that the UWA and its wrestlers received) had so many important wrestlers that many times they booked big tag team main events, like the 16th of Jan, 82 when Perro Aguayo and Canek drew against Tamba and Andre The Giant, or the time (around Jul-Aug, 82) the weird team of Hulk Hogan and Gran Hamada defeated Aguayo and Canek.

The UWA kept using the Canek vs. foreign challengers formula to death using other talent like Pat Patterson, Big Van Vader, Vampiro, Buffalo Allen (Bad News Brown), P. N. News, Konnan, Ricky Santana, Miguelito Perez, King Haku (Meng), Bam Bam Bigelow and Kokina (Yokozuna). However from 1992 to 1994, with the rising popularity of AAA, the UWA kept slowly dying until it finally closed its doors with Canek being the final UWA World Heavyweight title holder, a belt he still holds.

In 1992, Canek had some Japanese tours performing in the Wrestle Dream Factory and W*ING promotions. While competing at this last promotion he had a singles match against Mil Mascaras. Also in 1993 Canek started wrestling for EMLL and on 03/26/93 he gained the CMLL Tag Team titles teaming with Dr. Wagner Jr. and defeating the team of Vampiro & Pierroth Jr. in a best of 3 match series that was the finals of a tournament for the vacant titles. That title was vacated on November of 1994 as Canek stopped wrestling for "La Empresa" due to an elbow injury.

Nowadays Canek wrestles for AAA in a limited capacity where he's smartly used for big angles and important matches where he still defends his UWA belt, which he temporary lost from August 15, 1999 to September 6 against Cadaver De Ultratumba.

Even though always a very solid quality wrestler, he never was an off-the-charts performer like Dos Caras or Solitario. However his incredible amounts of charisma, popularity, box office power, and the fact that his mask is one of the most beautiful and meaningful hoods ever seen, made him the Mexican idol and lucha libre legend he is now.</font>

Notes
Canek's currently back on the rudo side in CMLL. He returned to CMLL on April 30, 2004, immediately feuding with Dr. Wagner Jr.. When the Doc switched to the tecnico size, Canek mirrored him and switched to being a rudo. As part of the build up to an mask match between the two, Canek lost the UWA World Heavyweight Championship to Wagner.

Events have stalled from there. The mask match date never got set, and was seemingly forgotten for the time being. Wagner's tecnico turn (and Atlantis' rudo turn) lead the Doctor to other feuds. At the moment, Canek's left without a big rivalry and his trademark championship. To fill the void, Canek's feuded with other aging heavyweights, like Rayo de Jalisco Jr. and Head Hunter I, and recently won the IWRG Heavyweight Championship. Still, he seems to be in a holding pattern.

When Canek returned to CMLL, there was talk that the promotion only took him back, and gave a part time spot to one of his sons (Canek Jr.), on the promise that Canek would lose his mask in their ring. That hasn't happened yet, but at Canek's age, it can't be too far off.

Canek's a ponderous wrestling at this point of his career, but the fans still see him as a living legend. His signature power moves still get over to those who've seen him and know him.
Biography
<font face="Verdana">
LA Park is a regular in CMLL. He's recently turned rudo in Mexico City, but still wrestles as a tecnico in many places and outside of CMLL. When he started his current stint with CMLL, he was presented as a freelancing outsider, and it's unclear if he still maintains that status (or if there's any real meaning to that distinction.)

As a tecnico, LA Park was getting a negative reaction from some of the tecnicos fans in 2006. (It's comparable, though not nearly as loud, as what happened with Atlantis a year earlier.) On April 30, 2006 - a special Kid's Day show at Arena Mexico - LA Park turned on his partners Mistico, Negro Casas, and Heavy Metal. Park teased a feud with Mistico and at an alliance with Perros del Mal, but his rudo turn has ended up more focused on a feud with Dr. Wagner Jr.

LA Park is best known to North American wrestling fans for his stint in World Championship Wrestling, where his trademark was striking his opponents over the head with a chair; thus, the nickname Chairman of the Board came into play. He is also remembered for his strutting and leg-wiggling dancing.
Adolfo Tapia started wrestling in 1982, but he did not really start making a name for himself until he started wrestling as the masked La Parka in 1992. His costume and mask are a skeleton resembling the outfits used in Mexico's Day of the Dead ceremony. He is a very flamboyant wrestler, sometimes wearing sombreros to the ring, playing guitar on the chair he always brings to the ring, strutting and dancing in the ring, and even strutting on the turnbuckle.

His biggest and longest running feud in Mexico was against Lizmark. They feuded for years. He also feuded with Jerry Estrada, Konnan, Super Calo, La Calaca and Pierroth, Jr. He frequently teamed with Psychosis. He was part of the "When Worlds Collide" joint AAA/WCW PPV in 1994 and wrestled briefly in ECW in 1995.

In 1996, he went to WCW and picked up his feud with Super Calo. He became known as "The Chairman of WCW" because he would hit his opponents with a chair, stand it up and pose on it after strutting. In 1997, he reformed his team with Psychosis with Sonny Onoo as their manager. They feuded with Wrath, Mortis, and Ultimo Dragon. By 1998, he had left Onoo and feuded with Disco Inferno and Psychosis. He was used on some WCW PPV's but never got a push to the top. In June 1998, he tore his ACL in a match after a Goldberg spear. He returned in September and got into some trouble for competing in Mexico without Eric Bischoff's permission.

In November 1998, he joined Eddie Guerrero's Latino World Order (LWO) with Psychosis, Juventud Guerrera, Los Villanos, El Dandy, Silver King, Héctor Garza, Damien, and a reluctant Rey Misterio Jr.. They feuded with Konnan and Perry Saturn. The LWO disbanded in January 1999 when Guerrero was injured in a car accident. La Parka started teaming with Silver King and picked up his feud with Super Calo again. He briefly feuded with Eddie Guerrero upon his return since Eddie caused the LWO to disband.

When Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara took over booking in late 1999, they had Ferrara's voice speaking English over the intercom while La Parka would be doing interviews in Spanish in the ring. The voiceovers would comically explain La Parka was a fan of Skeletor from Masters of the Universe, hence his in-ring wear. This ended after a few weeks when La Parka heard something he did not want said and tossed the mic down as Ferrera was speaking. By early 2000, he had left WCW for Mexico where he had some trouble with the AAA promotion over the use of the La Parka name. They had it trademarked and he did not want to work for them, so he changed his name to L.A. Park and debuted with AAA's rival, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. In January of 2004, Park and Shocker defeated Los Guerreros Del Infierno for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship. Rey Bucanero and Último Guerrero would win their titles back in a rematch in March but L.A. Park challenged Último Guerrero for the CMLL Light-Heavyweight title at the CMLL 71st anniversary show but was unsuccessful. He continued wrestling in CMLL as well as independent promotions in Tijuana and else where in the country.

2002 and 2003 saw him wrestle for XPW, All Japan Pro Wrestling, Major League Wrestling and the revived AWA Superstars. In 2004, he made brief appearances in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, using his chair on his opponents, but was soon back in Mexico teaming with Shocker. In 2005, L.A. Park can be found wrestling in his native Mexico and in the United States for LXW and UCW and occasionally for FCW.

In October 2005 L.A. Park debuted for Detroit's Independent Wrestling Revolution (IWR) brand "Revolucha", teaming with American Kickboxer vs. El Hijo del Santo & Konnan, with special referee Zach Gowen. Park continued his rivalry with El Hijo del Santo culminating in May 2006 at Revolucha 2: "Dia de los Muertos" inside "Lucha en la Juala" (a steel cage match). Both Park and Santo had their masks ripped 50% off their faces during this violent cage match. In February 2006, L.A. Park began a bitter feud with then IWR Champion Conrad Kennedy III (CK3). L.A. Park finally defeated CK3 in August 2006 at "Brawl at the Hall" and is currently the IWR/Revolucha Heavyweight Champion.

As of June 2006, he's currently still performing on the CMLL, has become a heel and has had a very successful run of matches on Mexico, mainly due to his current feud with Dr. Wagner Jr., which have a very positive fan reaction. In one of their most recent matches, which happened on the Arena Mexico in June 9, 2006, L.A. Park won when he faked a foul and Dr. Wagner Jr. was disqualified.

Controversy over the La Parka gimmick
LA Park is the original La Parka from AAA in the early '90s and the one who was in WCW and XPW. The rights to the gimmick of La Parka have been the subject of court battles since La Parka left AAA; so far, they've ruled that AAA owner Antonio Pena owns the name and the look, and LA Park can not use the "La Parka" on television in Mexico. (He's allowed to and does use La Parka in the US and elsewhere.)
Incognito is believed to have started using the name Mistico just before the CMLL wrestler of the same name. However, Incongnito was doing so in the lesser known rings of Juarez (compared to Mistico in Mexico City) and CMLL seemingly won the rights to the name in court. Incongnito will still occasionally use varaied spellings of the name "Mistico" close to Juarez, since the fans there knew him under that name, but has switched to Incognito elsewhere. Supporters of Incongito claim he's more spectacular than Mistico, but he's not close to Mistico's level of fame.

Incongito is said to be (or was) studying to become a priest.

INCOGNITO IS CURRENTLY WRESTLING FOR FMLL "FUERZA MEXICANA LUCHA LIBRE ROCKY" IN HIS LAST MATCH IN WHICH HE TEAMED WITH HURACAN RAMIREZ JR AND EL JALISCO, HE ACCEPTED TO USE THE MASK OF ZORRO LEAVING BEHIND HIS INCOGNITO MASK AND PERSONA.
