This particular championship was created on August 12, 2010 and given to Mephisto, who had held the previous NWA title. The original championship actually predated the National Wrestling Alliance, tracing it's lineage back to El Santo winning the championship in 1946. The current champion is Volador Jr. (Pictured), who is on his second NWA Historic Middleweight Title run after defeating La Sombra at the 2014 Juicio Final show.
