History

Mystique became interested in Lucha Libre due to her then boyfriend being a big wrestling fan, he used to show her wrestling videos, when she saw Místico she was so impressed that she decided to begin training. Her gimmick was inspired by the X-Men comic book's character with the same name. Originally she tried to relate her gimmick with comic book character whose ability is shapeshifting. For this reason, she used different masks and gears designs. She had about 5 different gears in her rookie year. She changed her look because she has a very long hair and was tired of it being pulled by her opponents so one day while she was training she held her hair back in a topknot that dropped to her waist. A fellow trainee told her that she looked like a ninja. She liked the idea and thought of in the similarites that lucha libre and ninjutsu share. Since then her look changed to a more ninja-like gimmick. Her mask was modified as well since she is a big Wonder Woman fan so on the forehead of her mask she added a crown and in the middle put an "M" shaped like Wonder Woman's "W" as a tribute to her heroine.

She has wrestled in the HUMO promotions, DTU, Toryumon, WWS, Liga Elite and several independent promotions in the United States. In 2016, she signed with the Arizona based promotion Lucha Libre Voz under the name of Katana with a slightly different design. Lucha Libre Voz promoter was impressed with Mystique's ninja gimmick, but he wanted her to go as ruda and with an exclusive image. Mystique accepted the proposal; Katana's design was a creation of her own, while the name was agreed by both. The mask's crown was upside-down representing the opposite side of Mystique and instead of the "M" there was a star representing the promotion's logo. She was announced from Mexico instructed and trained by the then biggest Japanese female wrestling promotion, Stardom and CMLL. As Katana she had her own comic book.

Unlike the nice and sweet Mystique, the Katana persona was arrogant and intended to be darker than Mystique. Surprisingly Katana was not booed by the crowd, instead she was cheered up. Katana became a fan favorite instead of a hated ruda.

On February 28, 2017 Mystique became HUMO Women's champion defeating Cassandra. She became the first CTLL Diva Texana Champion on August 19, 2017.
