M2K was a stable that formed in IWRG in 1999 before heading to Toryumon Japan in January 2000. There would be three incarnations with the first two being entirely being in Toryumon Japan and the third being in Dragon Gate.
Preface:
Susumu Mochizuki and Yasushi Kanda were Toryumon graduates from the second class. They wrestled on the Toryumon Mexico shows and later(much like other Toryumon graduates) debuted in IWRG. When IWRG had a tournament to crown their first Intercontinental Tag Team Champions they were entered in the tournament and eventually won it, beating out the team of Black Dragon and Fantasy. In January 2000, the team returned to Japan from Mexico as heels, wreaking havoc in Toryumon(Japan). Their actions caught the ire of TARU who on January 16 tried to bring them into the Crazy Max fold. They accepted the offer but later turned on the group which made them public enemies of the group and instantly began a feud with CMAX. They would beat the CMAX team of TARU and MAKOTO in their first defense of the IWRG Intercontinental Tag Team titles, but they were obviously heavily outnumbered as CMAX had 5 to the two of them. On March 5 Kanda ans Susumu hold their second defense of the IWRG Tag Team titles but they lost to the team of Fantasy and Star Boy. On March 26 it came to a head as CMAX assaulted Susumu and Kanda, hog-tying them with the ring ropes and beating them with chairs and a bat. Then, Masaaki Mochizuki came to their aid, mainly out of his hate for CMAX. Susumu thanked him, but Kanda and Mochizuki had an argument. Mochizuki saved them a few times due to common enemies, leading Susumu to recruit him, but both he and Kanda were against it. Finally they agreed to a singles match. After battling to a draw on April 25, Mochizuki agreed to join, turning heel in the process. M2K was born.
Original M2K:
The trio invigorated Toryumon with their fresh, exciting, and brutal heel ways when they beat SAITO, Tiger Mask IV, and Dragon Kid in their debut as a trio on June 1. The next night, M2k and CMAX had their first meeting which M2K won in convincing fashion. M2K would wreak havoc in Toryumon at every turn, going by the slogan "Rudest of the Rude". They are credited with turning Crazy MAX into a face group, beating the legendary team at their own game, that being the best rudo group of Toryumon Japan. In August 2000, to anger CMAX, M2K boycotts Toryumon shows, competing only in the rival All Japan and Michinoku Pro. In October Chocoball KOBE(whom renames himself Chocoflake K-ICHI) joined and is followed by the former MAKOTO who is now under the guise of Darkness Dragon in November. This would be considered the most revered incarnation of M2K.
In 2001 M2K declare themselves "Double Ringout Committee" and prove it through out March 2001 M2K wreak havoc on El Numero Uno, causing all but Susumu Mochizuki's league matches to end in double ringout. On April 14, Massaki Mochizuki reached the finals of Numero Uno by winning a battle royal then KO'ing his rival CIMA. He promises to end the tournament with a double ringout, and succeeds, however Ultimo forced a restart with a full finish, Mochizuki would still win the tournament. In October, M2K has its first big loss, Yasushi Kanda suffers what would be a career ending neck injury. The next month K-ICHI is knocked out when he becomes the first victim of CIMA's Schwein finisher bu he was was replaced by Genki Horiguchi on the same night, November 8. CIMA would use this momentum going into December 10 as he would face Massaki Mochizuki in a hair match. Mochizuki would lose the match and his hair to CIMA, which caused him to take a leave of absence. He returned in January of 2002, cleansed of his heel ways an as a "Good Person". He changes M2Ks' slogan to "Full Conclusion Committee". His attempts to turn M2K into a clean fight group failed quickly, and he was ousted in Feburary 2002, leading to a match with Susumu Mochizuki in which the loser would lose the right to their name, Susumu lost.
After the dismissal of Massaki Mochizuki, the hunt for a new leader was begun. Genki Horiguchi, who began having more of an active role, began actively recruiting Magnum TOKYO. He took dance lessons, and eventually paid for dance lessons for all members. M2K assist Magum instead of Susumu Yokosuka in their El Numero Uno match, then dance with Magum afterwards. After assaulting and injuring SUWA to get Magum into the finals, M2K help Magum defeat Mochizuki in the Numero Uno finals on April 22. He aligns with them, but doesn't join yet. They dance again. On May 19 Magum officially becomes leader turning M2K from a serious heel group into a group of backup dancers. Yasushi Kanda referees for the first time and becomes a rudo referee aligning with the group. On July 14 Darkness Dragon speaks for the first time, expressing differences with Magu over his use of profanity...Later in the month 'Kness would challenge Genki for the NWA Welterweight title, but any tension in the group was squashed quickly. On September 8 Darkness loses his mask to his long-time rival Dragon Kid in a match officiated by Kanda. Kanda turned on M2K, and announced his retirement. On September 15 M2K declare war on Kanda and Darkness. This version was the final group under the M2K banner, the name was sealed by Magnum after Kanda's retirement on October 28, out of respect to his influence on the group. This version would merge with the pseudo technico Darkness Dragon's newly formed Do FIXER stable.
Shin M2K:
In 2003, with Kandas' blessing, Massaki Mochizuki revived the name on January 23 2003. It was dubbed "Shin" for "new". He recruits Second Doi, Keni'chiro Arai, Dragon Kid and Raimu Mishima. This version was never accepted, as it basically took all members of the Toryumon home army, who spent so much time battling the original heel M2K. In the eyes of most fans, this version was an insult to the name, since it wasn't heel, and only included Mochizuki from the original. In June Mochizuki says if Mishima loses the fall in his match at the KOBE World Hall, M2K would declare headhunting on him. Mishima lost his match against Takamichi Iwasa and Anthony W. Mori with Doi as his partner. Mori made Mishima tap out with the Escargot. A month later on July 23, Mishima withdraws from M2K.Fans hated it, and it was dismissed by the end of that year when on December 16 Mochizuki loses a match to Arai, causing M2K to be dissolved, sealing the group again.
Final M2K:
On July 4, 2004 at KOBE World Hall, Massaki Mochizuki, who recently was betrayed by Aagan Iisou, reconciles with Keni'chiro Arai, Second Doi, and Susumu Yokosuka to take on four of Mochizuki's former partners in brother YASSHI, Shogo Takagi, Takuya Sugawara and Touru Owashi. K-ness returns from a shoulder injury and unites the five of them to form Final M2K. As the name would seem to imply, this version will be the final one. Taking members from all eras of M2K, this could be considered to be the definitive collection of M2K members. This would take the name from the Toryumon Japan era, forward into the Dragon Gate era. On January 1 Doi begins competing under his real name, Naruki but on January 14, he turns rudo by turing on Mochizuki and joining CIMA's new Blood Generation stable. In March 2005 the upstart Katsuhiko Nakajima begins competing in Dragon Gate on larger shows, aligning with FM2K.In December 2005 K-ness formally announced yet another long term injury absence. On January 29, 2006 Yamato Onodera joins the group and he is given Kanda's old Gekokujoh character. In March 2006 the Original M2K reunites for one night only, as Yasushi Kanda returns from retirement. Arai tries to get the fourth Dragon graduate Tozawa to join FM2K but he refuses to join. Between December 22 and 26, Mochizuki quits the group, K-ness steps back as an active wrestler to help book Dragon Gate, and Onodera leaves to concentrate on his growth in NEX. All members decide on a FM2K dismissal, the M2K name sealed for the 3rd time. The final Final M2K match had Masaaki Mochizuki, Susumu Yokosuka and K-ness losing to CIMA, Don Fuji and Matt Sydal who also decided to end their Blood Generation stable.
