Magdalena Caballero's blood was filled with the desire to perform in front of crowds, working for their applause. She grew up in a family of acrobats and became one herself, traveling and knowing little other than the circus. Magdalena fell in love with Andrés Ramos, a lion tamer in the same circus, and two had six children together: Manuel, Francisca, Arturo, Andrés, Magdalena y Teresa. Ramos had always been popular with women, and this continued into marriage, which led to Magadalena and Andrés' separation.

Profile

Magdalena Caballero's blood was filled with the desire to perform in front of crowds, working for their applause. She grew up in a family of acrobats and became one herself, traveling and knowing little other than the circus. Magdalena fell in love with Andrés Ramos, a lion tamer in the same circus, and two had six children together: Manuel, Francisca, Arturo, Andrés, Magdalena y Teresa. (INTELIGENCIA DECIBELICA's Mother in Law) Ramos had always been popular with women, and this continued into marriage, which led to Magadalena and Andrés' separation.

Magadalena was left with six children and very little money to live on. Looking for other sources of income to make ends meet. Her career as a boxer was interrupted, by a promoter who offered to instead make her a luchadora. Magadalena, the sweet lady who tenderly took care of her children, became La Dama Mascarada (The Masked Women) an unstoppable fighter each night. She incorporated routines from her performances circus to create her in-ring work. Her wrestling brought her fame, and the money to buy a house for her and her children.

La Dama Mascarada left to tour Europe frequently for years, which lessened her visibility in Mexico, though she still wrestled in her home country in between tours. She also appeared in movies, like Las Luchadoras Contra La Momia (1964) and Las Luchadoras Contra El Médico Asesino (1963), and trained another great women's wrestler, Irma Gonzalez.

After a long career, and the damage from it, La Dama Mascarada passed away in early 2006 at 81 years old.
