Born in Pachuca, Hidalgo; moved to Mexico City at the age of 15 where he worked as baker. Practiced boxing at amateur level. He was brother of Maciste. Became a professional wrestler rapidly. Debuted on 1939 as a técnico. Admirer of Salvador Flores and Gory Guerrero. Never was a main eventer, but he was an illustrious trainer with a large list of pupils. Some of his most notable trainees were Fantasma de la Quebrada, Scaramouche, La Seductora, Cruz Diablo, Dardo Aguilar.
